Is there any difference in the oif motors, or just the obvious frame changes?

    [/ QUOTE ]

OIF are pretty dead the same, amybe a few small differences in mounting and intake depending on year and model.

that was built a couple years ago by Ron Olmstead, he sold it to a guy from LA at last year's big 3 swap.
honda front brake, accesory fork covers, 21 front, swingarm bike with a stock style hardtail (makes for a short bike)
Triumph TRW tank bunch of hand made stuff on it.

Sam, if you remember that unit chopper project in the shop here, it is looking better, the springer is gone and a more conventional front end is in it's place... looks pretty good.

Sorry, but thats the only pic I have. My pop may have some more in some boxes somewhere. As for the bike....

...it was a 1950 Triumph 650cc.Thunderbird. It had a factory rigid frame and what is known as a "spring hub" for the rear wheel. It had a set of "sprint bars" on it for handle bars. The rear fender was an original Triumph "front fender" that he turned around and mounted on the back. He made the fender brackets and license plate bracket out of some small bar stock. The rear wheel rim was stock and the front was off of an early "Honda Scrambler" that he had plated and which he then laced to his original Triumph front brake/axle. He had all of the alloy polished which included the transmission case, clutch and chain case, and the engine case. The head was a modified head with big valves, and two "Amal" carburators. The bottom end was balanced, and it had over sized pistons (forgets how much over they were) and Triumph "Q" cams. The gas tank was from a "Mustang motor scooter". Harley Davidson running lights for brake lights. The headlight was a small after market model that was just the right size to blend with the overall appearance of the bike. The bike appeared in a magazine called "Street bike" or "Street Chopper", something like that, back in the 70's, around 77 or 78 I think.

I know I am biased, but of all the Triumphs posted here over the years, I have yet to see one that I like better. It was really a beautiful bike to see in person. Black on chrome.....doesn't get any better.
