Man, that was one hell of a road trip! You are pretty resourceful and determined that is for sure. Glad you made it and that is one way to make that car yours. Reminds me somewhat of a trip I had with a '65 Mustang convertible I bought sight unseen off of ebay in 1999. The car was made on the same day I was born, dark blue with a white top. I won the auction, sent the guy a deposit. My wife and I got on a plane and went to Indianapolis. We met them at a restaurant, looked over the car, not too bad actually. It was in good shape. pretty much as described and looked pretty sharp too. We had breakfast, exchanged money, keys and title and then jumped in the car and drove it back to Oakland where we were living at the time. It was looong trip, but no where near as adventuresome as your trip. The most trouble we had was the power steering fluid went low at around midnight outside of Sparks, NV. So, we pulled into a cheap motel for the night. It was the summer and it was hot in the desert so it kind of got a little hot around Reno, but nothing too bad. I sold it about 2 years later. I probably should have kept that one, oh well. But, in a way, the memory of that trip and driving the car back with my wife was the best part of having that car. Good luck with the car and thanks for the story!

Thanks guys. I'm just starting 2 weeks off now, and I've got the front end body pulled off, interior stripped, now for the rearend.

I picked up some sanding disks and am going to give her a skin peel tonight. I'm keeping a pretty good photo journal and I'll put it up once I get back into the swing of things.
