Hello to All, I need help finishing off my 34 Tudor project in Port Charlotte, FL. I am more than willing to learn the skills to do the job myself- if that is what it takes. If anyone out there knows of a qualified builder/ welder/ fabricator in my area please pm me with the info. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I know it sounds tuff, but you just got to pick a spot and start. I usually start with suspension stuff. You will be suprised @ what you can get accomplished with out experience...Good luck. Some one will chime in I'm sure.
Does anyone know of any good shops or qualified individuals that can weld and fabricate in SW Florida (Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Sarasota or even Tampa Bay area)?
There's a guy in Talahassee who is pretty good with cardboard. No one there claims him though, they say he's from Texas. I agree with the above suggestion of finding a spot & starting from there. This isn't rocket science. JH
there are quite afew of them in the tampa bay area..can warn you rod shops start around 60 bones an hr....good luck rooster
PM "DodgeRodder"...he is in your area....and is a great fabricator....he will most liley know of others there too. There are several of us here in the Tampa area too ......
hey there... im not one to welcome since im fairly new... but, i did as they stated, pic a spot and go for it... ive learned alot from trying things on my own and if i did it wrong(which ive done many times) i just scrap it or start over... only way to learn is to try
People have told me that it would probably be around $60/hr. Believe me, I would love to do this myself. The bragging rights alone would be more than worth it. Just wish that there was someone there to guide me through this whole process. BTW, thanks AHotRod for the tip on DodgeRodder. PM will be sent after typing this post. Any and all info is appreciated. Thanks again
Don't forget to attend and support local car shows. Ask questions of car owners. Most are more than happy to explain how something was done and may even be willing to come by your shop sometime to lend a helping hand. Make friends. There may be something you have a talent for that can be bartered for help on your car. Good luck.
i learned alot here.and just supporting local car shows.. what do you do for a living? you may be able to trade off work for your car. i have done a few car jobs for work on my house.just a thought.
the first sunday of every month theres always a good turnout at the webster www.floridaswapmeets.com swapmeet just nwof otown then thanksgiving weekend in daytona the turkey rodrun theres a lot of shops and clubs in attendence from all over the state and country
I'm planning to attend the show at Daytona around Thanksgiving. I just missed the one in Tampa a couple of weeks ago. There are a few cruise-ins locally. I've been to a few of them, just have to make more new friends. Funny story: I've been to that swap meet, actually I went the motorcycle one about 2 1/2 miles away, first. At the door they tell you it's the car show only to have you enter and find out that it really is a biker swap meet. By the time I got to the "real" auto swap meet it started to pour something fierce minutes after I finally found a good parking spot.
Man you love to pull my strings...i know you are sittin there laughing your ass off at my reply... Thank God i am moving back to Connecticut in a year or 2...... Florida has some pretty kool cars as well as some very kool people..
There will be 80+ HotRods parked together at Daytona from the HAMB......and others spread around the grounds. Allot of us 'Poor-Boys' go to the Webster Swap Meet too ....
I hope to meet a few of you guys there in person. Only problem is that I won't have my own street rod and will feel left out.
ha ha! I know man, I lived there for a while....and consider Nads a dear friend....imagine that! I do love pulling your strings though!
