It was one of the nicest cars in the showroom. Unfortunately, good taste is out of style these days. I sure liked the car. But that's just me
Altho '53 54 Fords are not the favorite choice in customs, that car is nice, tasteful build..... It is a shame when MORPHODITE,ultra smoothed, soulless vehicles with zero identity, win at all the major events nowadays.......
I know it is getting shot by a couple of the best custom mags for upcoming features. That car was even nice the day he bought it- and has just gotten better and better. A PERFECT kustom.
that photo of it really doesnt do it justice. It was a stunning automoblie and very clean and simple. I soaked that one in for quite a while.
It's gorgeous for sure... but Lee Pratt's car is the one that did for me... I believe it was parked right next to Jimmie's car...
That car makes my pants tingle, one of my favorite years and models among other things...very well done.
The guy down the street from me has a stock one that I've been trying to buy for years. Now that picture makes me want it more!
That car was beautiful...very classy. Gary Howard is the man....he's got the eye and the skills. You put him and Jimmie together and you've got a classic everytime.
That 54 was a very nice custom but I agree Ryan, the shoebox was just beautiful and drew attention. I loved the color combo and the trim. Great custom.
some pics i took of both cars...the lighting makes my camera act funny and gets it out of focus. only thing i dislike about indoor shows (oh and i'm just beginning to take photos so it may be Me not the camera) =)
Jimmy Vaughn and Lee Pratt are cool dudes!!! Their cars and them have got alot of style. Jimmy White P.s. Gary Howard is no slouch either, he builds phenomenal stuff.
MMMM... crawling into bed after a good day working on the car, falling to sleep to the smell of fresh bondo.
the colors on the shoebox didnt really do it for me. If it wasnt parked next to Vaughan's car it probably would have looked better. Vaughan's car was that nice. It actually seemed to block out the energy of all the cars around it.
G Howard has an incredible eye for this stuff - his proportions and touches are always just 'right on' not overly flashy - never takes that step too far. Great design inspiration for anyone. When he and Jimmie get together on a car its always a knock out - look at the Caddy, the Riv and the Chevy and they all work so well together. Lee and Gary are both some of the nicest guys you'll ever talk with, too nice work, fellas
Customs should be subtle (although a little Watson style is nice), hot rods should be loud. Jimmy's Ford is perfection, Pratt's car is right there too. Great minds and all that.... I hope the very few that build these cars as well as their owners aren't hung up on getting trophies, these cars are way beyond that.
Lee told me that he has been putting that shoebox together for 5 years 'till that show. So much talent and so down to earth. KNUX!
