One of my worst days ever...very on topic

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mytlo56, Dec 31, 2003.

  1. 1. Apologies for the F-bombing in my initial post. I know there are younger people and those who don't appreciate swearing on the HAMB. I'm usually a little more, uh, eloquent.

    2. Just emailed the trucking company pic.'s to see what they'll do. I hope and pray that they cover their mess. At lease I can get body shop estimates then...not to mention I'm not the type of guy who is in to taking legal action, but I will if necessary.

    3. Pist-N-Broke: Let me get my ducks in a row and I'll PM you. I will probably need:

-Small chrome strip that runs down the center of the grill
-Front passenger side fender stainless molding
-Front passenger side door stainless molding

  2. Is that a Crown Vick or just a Vick 2d ht? I'll make some calls for you here and pass ph# on to you if they have what you need. Most of all you need cost to replace with premo parts for your ins. clame.

You've got my sympathies, I don't know how you controlled yourself, I know I would have completely lost it and ended up in jail. I guess it could have been a lot worse at least it can be repaired, and it didn't become a complete loss.

It's hard to understand how a driver could have missed what was going on back there for so long. If it was a company you should post the name of the place and any other info you have on the place so know one else gets involved with them.

  4. I'm not trying to be an****hole, because this*****s and I feel for ya, but if this is the worst thing that's ever happened to you, you must be friggin' blessed. It's*****ed-up, not totally*****ed, and the carrier should be picking up the tab. I'm sorry for the***** you're going through, but grab a beer, take a deep breath and stand back. Life could be worse (and is for a lot of people).

I'll get off my soap box now. [IMG]

Sorry to hear about the damage. The shippers insurance should cover this. Things like this made me pay extra for an enclosed trailer. Should be getting the car soon and hope nothing went wrong.

I said nothing about this being the worst thing that ever happend to me. I said it was one of my worst days ever. It was.

I have experienced things in my personal life that would raise the hair on the back of your neck. This is a car forum though and I'm talking about my car. Yesterday was one of my worst days ever. Period.

Pist-n-Broke, she's a 2 dr. HT regular Vic., not Crown.

I´m sorry for ya, anthony. And I know it´s one of the worst things that can happen to a car guy when your car is damaged and it is even worse if you ain´t responsible for that. My mom scratched the quarterpanel of my new painted 56 3 feet long when she got her bicycle out of the garage. She didn´t even apologize for that.... I couldn´t make her pay, she´s my mom... As someone said before: Ya can´t have nothing nice....

Remember a few months back...Deuce Roadster was hit at a stop light in his 40 coupe......a lotta damage..it can be fixed.

  10. Update:

The shipping company is going to pay! Vic. is at a restoration shop down in Kent, WA (Rillio's). Looks as though they do some high quality work. Had a 54 Vette, 2 Porsche 356's, and a bare metal Phaeton w/ a***** load of custom welding and filling done.

Thank God they're taking care of this...because the bill is going to be out of freakin' sight.

  11. Glad to hear it.
