  1. I have 100s of emails that say thanks for your interest concerning employment inquiries. I finally after a couple of years decided that being disabled isn't so bad after all.

If you don't have a car to build there is always another around the corner. And you haven't wasted anyone's time we all chose to read and post.

I know there is always one around the corner, but I've been looking for a nicer, running, 6 cylinder Falcon for a while. Missed out on one in the same area as this one a while back as well due to work schedule not lining up because of the holidays. Oh well I guess. It also seems that people take a personal affront to some of the topics in the threads. It is common though, I see it in more threads. I guess my first post was a bit whiny in all honesty. Just disappointed really.

Seriously though, if you're serious and have the dough, one of the best things you can do is put a "Want Ad" in your local newpaper or Craigslist at the least.

You won't have to compete with others trying to buy it and will often bring out previously unadvertised cars. It's worked for me before.

I find that my problem is getting to the things for sale. I live in the last major city before Canada, therefore the selection is much lower so I look to Seattle for much of my project materials. No one wants to wait for someone driving when they can sell it to their next door neighbor. It is understandable, just frustrating.

Yes, like I said, in the relative "world of bad things", this is probably toward the most minor thing to ever have happen. I still have not heard back from my friend's mom about her father (really good friends almost like my own grandpa). He lives in Ashtabula Ohio and is 90. I have bigger things like him to worry about than the loss of a car.

I haven't really found them that useful as people list them for sale and don't search for what they are selling. It is worth a try though. I am trying to budget as I sold a truck, so I need to kind of stay within that and not acquire a project on top of my current project.

You seem to think that it was a 'Sweet' deal sight unseen....

Ever hear of offering a guy cash over the phone when those "sweet' deals actually pop up?

    I have.

  10. You dont work 24/7. I lived in Phx, worked full time, drove to Los Angeles to pick up a car mid week, drove home, worked the following day (although tired as hell).

You waited to pull the trigger, suck it up and dont next time.

You'll look back someday and wish you had a "bad" day like this again.
Hopefully that day will be many years in your future.
Many of us guys have been through some real serious bad stuff.
Life has a way of doling it out as the years roll by.
Put it in perspective and get another Falcon.
You'll probably find a better one, too.

Don't be upset with us for jumping you for your wording.
We've all been to many funerals and have had occasions that would make weaker men give up on Life altogether

there is always someone out there with the cash and willing to get the car no matter what. I know first hand of a situation where an elderly lady was selling her deceased husbands deuce roadster. She had agreed to a price with a guy from out of state and while that dude was flying in to make the deal, the other guy came with cash and a trailer and convinced her that the other guy would probably not show up and she should make the deal with him, and he didnt even pay her asking price. Can you imagine how pissed the first guy was when he got there???

I can tell you've not sold many cars. Tons of people say they want to look, most don't show up. 1st guy/gal that shows up with the cash gets it. That's just the way it works, early bird gets the worm.

  15. Its a bummer when that happens... Recently found a rig that I wanted, had to pony up more than I wanted, but it wouldn't last long if I didn't. Turns out the fellow that had it, got a solid offer for twice what we agreed on. He held it for me. I was pretty impressed. (and happy!)

After 76 replies, I'm gonna figure you actually got a falcon.

"I just got a new car." "Did ya get a Falcon?" "No, I think I got a fairly good deal."

"...hey man I got this top notch state of the art hearing aid." "Oh yeah? What kind is it?"

    "'bout 10:30..."

...but back to... "One of the worst feelings in the world"...I understand Prop "4:20" passed in Washington state. Maybe that can help ease the pain:D.

On that note I think this thread will be closed soon!:)
