After some internal debate as to making something to hold the hood top on the roadster, vs buying something, I bit the bullet and bought LimeWorks leather hood hold down kit. I've seen a couple roadsters with these, like the zig-zag springs and the over center latches, and I've always liked British sports cars and race cars with leather straps holding a hood. My roadster, with its wire wheels, looks sort of European, so I think it'll be look appropriate on the car. They're kinda pricey, but I found them at "The Roadster Shop" for $30 less than anywhere, and free shipping. Now I gotta get the hood painted so when the stuff gets here I can put it on.
Mine are slightly distressed. The rear ones were tricky as they are not flat on the bottom. They had to be tapered to match the swoopy inner fender. I had them done by one of our own prior to his p***ing a few years back.
Or Brian. You could use the method I did to leave the sides completely open. A couple Model A hood hold downs and a center pivot on the cowl and your good to go. Cheap too! I liked the leather and springs you and Billy have though. They look good.
