I need to know of the existance of a 'blender' for one shot. Does anybody make it? Does one shot? What's it called and where can one get it? Speaking of getting one shot stuff, does anyone know of a direct outlet to purchase it? Thanks, r
I have a pint of what I believe they call "flow enhancer" It is used to help the paint level out along edges but helps with blending, a little goes a long way. I get my supplies from Grantz and Son, Sign Supply out of Tulsa. They actually run a truck to Enid.
i've never heard of a blender? but that's not to say that they don't make the stuff. you might try pinstriperdepot.com they have alot of coooool stuff! your pinstripin buddy pullinlines a.k.a. lit'l bill
Buy direct http://www.1shot.com/home.html Don't spell oneshot you probably don't want to go there. The flow enhancer is all I've ever heard anyone talk about useing. Not much help I know.
Is there a particular reason for wanting to use a flow enhancer?1-Shot usually works pretty well out of the can in good weather.Above 70 degrees or on a high humidity day you might want to try a bit of their High Temperature Reducer to slow the dry time down a bit.The old 1-Shot formula(lead based)actually recommended using a couple of drops of kerosene in the paint to improve flow characteristics. In colder weather, the 1-Shot Low Temperature Reducer will accelerate the dry time and make the paint flow better. They sell a 6000 series all around reducer but I have found that once it is opened it tends to gel in the can after a short time. Odorless mineral spirits are a good inexpensive alternative to the 1-Shot reducers.Regular mineral spirits(at least the newer versions)seem to make the paint want to separate and smell HORRIBLE! Don't use them indoors unless you're looking to get divorced. Another thing I DON'T recommend using is Smoothie or one of it's many variants. The stuff is essentially pure silicone and we all know what that stuff does to paint.I don't keep ANY products in my shop that contain silicones including most spray lubricants. If I have to lube something,I take it outside and wash my hands before I touch my paints again. What is really evil about that shit is it settles on the floor and then when you walk around or there is a breeze blowing,it stirs it up all over again.Trust me on this one.
