only going 20 miles an hour

about once a week there is a thread on here you never find out how things turned out..i always figure it was some silly little thing no one likes to admit to.

Didn't see anyone mention a plugged exhaust. Rat nest in there? Rotted baffles? Potato? Same symptoms - Idles well, yet won't go.

 

think the reason he hasn't posted lately is cause he took it around the block to see if he fixed it and he's not back yet. that was a week ago !!!

 

i bet he never shifted out of 1st gear

 

Not so bad, the woman's car BBS have similar sob stories, but they're generally fixed by "did you put gas in it, dear?", and "you say the key won't turn - is it the car key, or your house key, dear?", and "turn it off, then turn it on again - that's what my mother does".

Sorry - not everyone should be working on their own car, and certainly not an older car where every single part is suspect.

If diagnosing a problem is easy, why do doctors kill so many people?

 

whats goin on nah i just went on vacation. cars been running just need some small things worked out. oh and the battery cracked open and burnt through the spark plug wires.

 

Just as a Keep it simple type thing...are you sure your throttle linkage is working correctly and getting the full throttle. Hope you get it figured out...firing order and timeing should be next

 

We aren't all that far apart, if you want come up to the shop and i have all the equip and i can help/walk you thru it. But then, at 20mph, you'd better pack a sandwich.
