If this is the case I would think the IRS and the FBI would want to talk to these folks. Staging that kind of fraud (and that's what it would be) on national TV seems very questionable to me. And I didn't just fall off the turnip truck
I had an affiliate of BJ's contact me via an ad i had on my REO. I Told him in a few years get back ahold of me and they can sell it on their show. Gee I'd roll the dice on it..... I'd love to see the look on one of the buyers face, if their car they bought didn't start a few months from now....
Lets see first you think ''old guys'' that have money are dumb And now you think there's a law that everything on T.V. is true Come on Next your gonna tell us those have to be REAL College Girls GONE WILD OK I'm not kicking you.... but read the fine print on B/J's website....They can do anything they want. HONEST At least deCadninnie isn't on!
This sale isn't good for the hobby or the business I honestly wish the whole 'Auction scene'' would just dry-up and blow away What REALLY upsets me is the number of folks watching and thinking ''That's REAL'' I keeps the guy down the block from buying some rube's car cause in another year it will be a ''Cl***ic'' Many wonderful objects that should be saved AREN'T and every couple months there's some post about tryin' to pry loose something really neat I have spent my life finding stuff. The rarer and more off the wall the better There are people out there buyin' **** from Wallmart and leaving it in the original BAG!! More than once this week I have reminded people I know that are normally smart that ''They only build 3571 cause that's all the people wanted to buy!!'' The Boss 302 with 14k miles has only had 14k on it SINCE THEY TOOK THE ROLLBAR OUT AND QUIT DRAG RACIN' IT!!!!! Do the math this POS is RACED OUT!!! A good friend of mine wanted it years ago til I lifted the carpet and showed him the rollbar bolt holes God! Why can't these jerks go bake to BEANIEE BABIES so I can get rid of mine!!!
Exactly what I thought about the 5 million dollar hemi cover of Hot Rod.....you could create the whole story and sale prices back and forth bewteen a few individuals, leak the sale prices, let the rumors fly, contact Hot Rod and get them to bite.....next thing you know you've single handedly taken market to a whole new unthought of level. The money never had to trade hands or even exist. Same thing goes on in the machine gun/C3 transferable world. They finally figured out that all you have to do is say they sold for that and everyone will believe it. The sad thing is our kids, or hell, even us, won't be able to buy any kind Chevelle Camaro or Mopar before long. Everyone with a rotting away Charger that needs everything from the door handles down replaced will think it's a 50K shell.
It has been done for years in the Antique business. Say I collect vintage bicycles or pottery. I write a book "do***enting" values of some of the same **** I collect. There, now it is print, it must be true. Now my stuff is suddenly worht loads more than I paid for it because I said so!
Diamonds are the best example..... Why American Muscle Cars..... Were else can you get parts for your ''CL***IC RECREATION'' @ NAPA They haven't taken over YET! I've a really nice 1970 el Cam. SS and can't find a buyer at $16000! I actually do know folks that think they are ''Investing'' .... The ''Greater Fool'' does exist but hopefully not in big numbers. I know people that leased ''Collector Ferraris'' in the 80's boy was that a ''Musical Chairs'' ride! And for those that can't afford the cars I have a mint West Coast Choppers jacket Jesse gave me! Have you seen the MG stuff at COSTCO.....or the 99 cent store.... yup it's all too dumb. It would all be really funny if it wasn't for the Lemmings Death
