These Used to be 70 camaro bumpers. Front were heavily sliced and diced, and each rear bumper used 2 camaro bumpers.

Sort of custom bumper on my Acadian, a Nova Bumper. It does not have the reverse lights in the bumper like an Acadian bumper normally does.

So I sectioned a 53 caddy bumper for my 54.

I thought it looked pretty awesome until a close friend pointed out to me that the bumperettes looked a little ridiculous... ImageUploadedByTJJ1337699869.856396.jpg

So since those bumperettes looked like basketballs on my bumper I decided to bite the bullet and shave the bumper entirely...

    Wow was that a pita!

I welded the bumper to a metal table/ramp ;) welded it slowly, cooled it with air but it still sunk and created a little bit of a low spot.

No biggie as long as you spend 2 days with a br*** hammer whoopin it's tail :)

If I never do that again it will be all too soon.

I've got it to where it's within a 64th gap wise. I'll just have to pony up for a good polisher...

I finally got it mounted last week, I didn't grab any pics as I was in a mad thrash trying to get ready for shady side.

I had never mounted a bumper from scratch before, no lie, it was def not easy...

But alas she is mounted now!

I have a little refining to do on the brackets themselves but that's just for my own personal well being. They work fine as is.

Yeah! We need to know exactly what you need to do before taking them to the chromers. I was under the impression the chrome had to be stripped off by a chrome shop BEFORE cutting and welding but obviously that's not right. So someone please spill the details:
What do you need to do to prep the bumper before and after cutting and welding?

All I did was take a knotted wire wheel and go over the areas where I was going to weld, I did however make sure to get through the copper and down to the bare steel, I also used a fiber wheel on a rolac to ***ist with the final clean up.

That's it? I thought it was a more involved process. Heck, I can do that!
