Nothing too crazy. Just eliminated the grille bar and filled the holes and two toned it............

Mild redo to the rear bumper too. Eliminated the bridge between the uprights and two toned it.

Cool thread! Just scored on some 49 plymouth ribbed bumpers for my 51 F1. I have one 49 chevy license plate guard i plan on using. Actually i need another. Anybody have one laying around PM me.

Here's the pic I promised a year ago, not really all that custom, but it's got the bolt heads welded in and the license plate slot filled, and made two piece to fit in a chrome tank, and the brackets were made to drop it about 1 1/2 inches.

here is the front and rear bumpers for my 51 mercury. We did away with the flats on the front and peaked it ever so slightly.

the rear is a 54 mercury bumper Matt fitted for this car, and still maintained the mercury script. also have light s made for the bumperettses for it.

How did i miss this one. Anyway here one of the latest. when keeping the stock rear 51 merc bumper on this 51 merc build but we have very slightly narrowed it and added an V to it. We are also using the stock guards but have made a slight mod to them and a front cow catcher style over rider that's pinched, de Veed, peaked a will be narrowed. For the front we are using this dodge bumper and its guards, The only mod we plan to do is to drasticly narrow the guards

Hey John i am glad you went with the 54 merc bumper instead of the caddy. It looks great on you 51 merc.

Here are some kustom bumpers I have done- '51 Merc with '55 Dodge front bumper with modified ends and filled holes and '52 Cadillac rear that was heavily modified (guards moved inward, center section narrowed and pulled closer toward body, ends filled and trimmed in certain spots to match Merc fenders), and my '50 Ford with filled and lowered rear bumper and '52 Kaiser overrider. The '49 Ford with Olds quarter panels has a '53 Ford front bumper narrowed nine inches and recontoured to fit the Ford body with a '52 Kaiser overrider...copy of the Buster Litton Ford but as a convertible.

I'm splitting my 57 Ranchero and turning the bumperettes in to phantom bullets.
