Hey all. I posted a thread on here yesterday about a 1968 SS Camaro that we are working on in our shop. It was going to be a step by step on replacing the roof, quarters and rear body panel. I thought someone would be able to get something out of it. To my suprise I received reply stating to "just dont" and it was deleted since it was over the 1963 mark. I looked all over this site trying to make sure it was OK to post it and found nothing. I would appreciate it if the mods would post a sticky or something that noted vehicles were only to 1963. That would have saved me A LOT of time writing the story and shrinking and posting all those damn photos. Maybe it is written somewhere but I just didnt see it? I have found some great information on this site and hope to be a part of it in the future. Thanks.

Bummer - I'd have liked to have seen it. Would've been a good tech post, as it featured the tech more than the car it was being done to. :(

I'm not a big popcorn guy but I'll take a box of Whoppers...... The reason there is a '63 cut off is to specifically exclude muscle cars. But I think they're great for other people to own. I've been promoting them to every early Ford guy I know.....

The pic of my `63 Chevy C-10 was surgically removed from my intro.
If your not already on it you'll be warmly received over on the Chevy Talk board where they will have a specific forum for your pony car.

LOL...well put. I completely understand. It would just be nice if it were posted so people didnt waste their time. The thread was about the car and the step by step was going to be just a bonus but I suppose I would do the step by step without a full shot of the vehicle. Maybe I could Photoshop the rest of the vehicle into a Rod. Just kidding.

Correction... it looks like my pic just went missing. The admin didn't monkey with it after all.

1964 is the cutoff in the cl***ifieds except body styles that held over in 65 like Rivieras and Econolines.

Remember, this is a Traditional Hot rod and Custom Web site.

64 and older is a common agreement that qualifies as traditional.

Muscle cars are a different era and really is not discussed a lot here.

    Thanks,

I sure wish you guys would let me move my '66 C-body 'vert in the cl***ifieds (same body as '65). I want it out of my driveway. :(

But yeah, even though it's occasionally inconvenient sometimes, I know the rules and respect 'em... especially when I think about the anarchy the HAMB would descend to without 'em - those rules are there for a reason, and definitely for the greater good.

And I'd love to see the how-to with the metalwork. If he did do a tech, and just did close-ups and what not, could he still post? You know, if you had to look real, real, real hard to tell it's a Camaro?

I just read it there is NO mention of a cut off. We have been through this before. Ryan Has said 65 since he loved 65 Riviera's, someone else said 64

Must have missed my post above about this.

I have again included in this post.

Also - so there is NO CONFUSION here is a copy of our cl***ified rules............ and note the section half way down the page that says "What you can sell"

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211146

The challenge lies that if we allow JUST ONE GUY to post something that skews what we have rules on, then 50,000 other guys want to bust the door down and then guess what ?
The sole vision of "Traditional" and "Muscle Car" get skewed and then it ain't that cherished level of 'Traditional" Hot Rods.

As far as the main page - Ryan's web site - Ryan's Decision - And "Traditional" and
"Muscle Car" I don't see as the same.

More and more you will see deletes if it isn't on topic, so stay on topic...stay on topic !!

There is no literal cut off date... It's a traditional hot rod and custom message board. That means we stick to the early stuff which doesn't include muscle cars.

    Thanks,

Yah, I totaly respect the rules of the site. Without limitations it would just snowball out of control. I'll see if I can get creative with the how-to on the metal work. This is definately a very informative site.

Man - do it. Get creative as hell!

A lot of us would love to see the metalwork. :)
