I've lurked on here for a couple years, but finally got around to joining. After a hundred or so posts, I went to order my HAMB Alliance plate and realized when I had signed on, I had used my usual generic sign on for other sites. Well that just wont do. There's nothing ordinary about the HAMB! Besides, I want my user named engraved on my plate be more reflect me and my car, so hence the name-change. Anyway, here is what I had introduced myself with before.... "Hello there! I've been involved in hotrodding since I was 16 when I built a 350 Vega to terrorize the locals. Since then, Ive had the pleasure to own (and fixup) a 73 Gran Torino, 75 Bronco and a 67 Camaro and the occasional bike here and there to name a couple. I have recently acquired a 1950 Dodge Coronet that was in surprisingly good condition for the price. (and age) I quickly found that 'parts hunting' was a much different experience for a 50's or older car than a 60's+70's. Plus I find myself at a state of indecision as the car that I got was so complete, it's really a blank-slate for whatever I want to do to it. The only thing I'm sure of is I will be keeping the flat six that purrs under the hood. All else is up for grabs, but ideas are forming. One thing I definitely learned over the years is to not ever think you know it all. To put it the way my Dad always said, "What do you do with experts? Exploit their expertise. In other words, if ya ask a question, have the decency keep your mouth shut and wait for the answer"..lol. I will endeavor not to cramp the style and charisma I've already seen on here. Jef Dallas,TX
