Looks like you improved it 500% with the paint and wheels. It might help to add a piece into the rear fenders to bring the body line up to match the cab but maybe it's best to leave it.
It has lots of potential, not sure how I missed it the first time around (2 ish years ago). Some skirts would help the rear alot, jus MHOP. Carefull with the new mill, it would be a shame to torque something up and go "backwards" on the bodywork.
this thing looks like what they put together in Arkansas and is proof that the HAMB is no longer for traditional hotrods
How bout getting another set of those front fenders, re-work 'em a little, swap sides and face them backwards for rear fenders? I think that would compliment the fins. Maybe some 58 Ford tail lights in the new rear fenders. I agree with the others about the roof and side windows.
Thanks! i appeciate it. If i get that motivated i'll probably finish my 27 lakes modified. this lil trucks just for fun and make people scratch their heads.
yeppers you got it. once I get it a little smoother I have 2/3 of a jar of blue medium flake left from my 60's dune buggy. This thing was shot with Plum Crazy as the base with 3 coats of flake. BTW i like the lake pipes idea!
. this lil trucks just for fun and make people scratch their heads.[/QUOTE] So that's what you were thinkin when you built it. I do like the way it looks in black. Wanna sell the old tires?
I think you guys are funny, probably one of the reasons I like the HAMB so much! You take a 40's IH and put a early 60's caddy rear on it as a bed!?!? you get slaughtered for it! There are alot of opinions here about what you can do! That's alright opinions are like bellybottons you know! I don't know why this is a no no, but it's okay to put a '60 Buick rear on a 30's Ford! Oh by the way I like them both! Klaus
those are my friends! jap on the right and Erik Sampson on the left. Erik was recently shot and killed by the cops here. (their still investigating) RIP Erik Sampson
I like it! It looks like something Batman would go to the dump in for his semi-annual mama's on my ass dump run.....not that I've ever had one or two of those run's
Kinda liking that thing.... My first modification would be to ditch those side windows........go for something larger, and different shape.... Good luck, Cheers..........
One advantage to more power is they would have to catch it to make fun of it. Seriously, I have seen a lot worse, I think it has potential.
There are times when you can count on your friends on the HAMB for good advice, and when things go your way and a few easy mods make a piece of coal into a diamond, and when the sun shines on your little garage and the pieces almost assemble themselves... This isn't one of those times. So... how's it look now???
I could see where a car restorer like you would stay with the easy mods while hoping for a diamond. (BTW Diamonds are for a woman.) Hmm oh I get it. As for me, i will grab a torch hammer sawzall whatever and beat steel to build what I want, how I want. After all isnt that what hot rodding is about. BTW are you looking at this month cover of "Hot Rod" Maybee you should take your smart mouth and wrap it around... I mean take it to the 70's Mopar Muscle Car board. You have missed the fact that the H.A.M.B is a TRADITIONAL HOT ROD BOARD which includes things like customs. As for Hows it look now...... come see it.
It looks lit it is lots of fun at the shows. People will pass right by those gold chainer cars just to look at yours....ain't it a blast!
funny you said that. just 2 days ago i stumbled on a short video clip of my sons flaming it at the unfinished nationals. You can see a crowd around them while they are laying out the flames. That alone is worth.........
WTF is going on... It should haver been painted flat olive with a white star on the door, throw it on a truck chassis on 33's, with a dummy .50 cal in the bed. Finished.
