Have you seen the Kadet in post #484 in this post? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=339875&page=25
It may just be that you've got to run around the area you bought it asking guys at parts stores or something... Wish I could help.
i have talked to some people that have owned it and as for as anyone could remember it was from indiana.i also have been told that the person that started it decided to do a dragster and then gave up on the opel.
looks like you have the info, guy started building it, never finished it and it rolled through lots of hands till you finally finished it. Sometimes the history isnt as important as the present
I called about the car when it was in Hemmings. The guy lived in CO and sounded like he had it for a few years and gave up (approx 2002?) The next time I saw it was at Auburn Ind swap meet at Mike Guffys spot. He also t on EBAY I think but he didnt do anything to it except keep the wheels and flip it. After that , you showed up with it. I almost bought it but CO transportation blew it. $4,500.00 rolling
i remember a guy in indiana had it for sale about 4 years ago or maybe longer, i think it was posted on here i think. i called him and asked about the car , and as i remember like harms way said, the guy messes with some nost. funnies i think. i think he was east of me , around warsaw indiana or marion indiana.
thanks for the info.guys!!!i know im the one who is makeing the history with it but there was some cool and really good work done to it.im sure who ever started it was not an amature.i also dont think it was very old when they cut it up.{there was still some factory wax markings on it}.i know it wasnt an expencive car back in the day but still, for someone to take a almost if not new car and turn it into a race car takes some balls-money.
well its been a while so i figured i would bring it back up.any info would be great.heres some pics. from last year.
I figured someone would remember it being from Co. Before Guffey ended up with it....good to finally see it running.
thanks!!!i cant believe it made it all the way from co.{IT'S JUST AN OPEL}does anyone know of older car builders that may have started it or that built simaler cars in co?
I know what you mean about cutting up a newer car my opel was cut up in 1980 when it was 10 years old and has been racing for 31 years so im guessing it was built right. good luck with it and have fun.Dave
