Ok, so I pulled a stupid and won an auction for a 10 Spline HRW Open Drive Conversion, and thought I got a great deal... Until I realized that all my rears are 6 spline. HRW DOES sell the yokes separately, but it seems cost prohibitive to go that route. That leaves me 2 options. 1. find someone who can use it and sell it on. OR (& why I'm posting) 2. Find something that will work with the kit to run my 6 spline rear. So, does anything come to mind? I'm eyeing some Winters QC yokes at the moment, but I don't yet know if they're thick or long enough to work with the collar and seal.
No, sorry, I appreciate the offer but that's not what I'm trying to go for. I've got a 3.78 I want to run. I've already got an open drive truck rear at that ratio. What I want to know is if there is a yoke I that will work with these kits with little or no modification.
The price I got from HRW was a jaw-dropper. Too much to make any sense in this case. I shot an email off to Rodsville, thanks for the suggestion!
you might do a search through the tech archives, i wanna say somone found a yoke that matches the pinion for their open drive thread.
I found a couple, one of them didn't have an ID and I couldn't find the shop they used. The one that ID'd a Spicer 1440, well I can't find any of those for sale anywhere.
Just peddle it and get the right stuff. Take advice that from a man who has done work with it, adapt it and use it for way too many years.
