First off thanks for the great site, I have read alot of the previous posts but can't find what I am looking for.
I am thinking of going to an open drive line because someone cut the torque tube on my car and now it is too short. My question is, How does the new drive shaft cottect to the tranny. The tranny is an old three speed year unknown. Thanks for any help possible.

    Need more info........

The tranny connects through a yoke just like a modern driveshaft. What tranny are you gonna try and use?

What year is the car? Is this a motor/tranny that is in it now? Or is this a donor car?

It's a 50 merc motor and a 41 rear in a 27 modified but the space between the motor and the rear is too short.

There was someone who had a tech thread on that and did the conversion themselves. I would post on the regular forum...there were some good pics. Any reason you are getting rid of the tube? Oh and Mickey....we have some people for you to drug.
