Open Heart surgery for my baby - prayers needed

Hey - I forgot my password for the Cool Stuff account so I started a new name just so I can post this on here.........

So you try to prepare yourself for major news in your life - but sometimes there is just no way to bolt yourself down...........
we are having open heart surgery tomorrow.

It seems the backflow into the heart was at 4mm - the entire opening of the valve area is 9mm..........so you can see that almost half the size of the opening is getting backflow. The crew in Boston have the ability to actually "sew" the valve back to the way it was initially. There are 3 valves that open and close to let the blood flow in and out - and one of the valves was ripped when she had her initial procedure when she was born. So this is what they are trying to correct. We hope that this all goes well and we pray that everyone will send us your positive vibes and prayers during the crazy time in our life.

Of course there are a lot of things I need to post on here - but right now I wanna get back to the room to spend time with my baby.
We have to scrub her down for the surgery tomorrow so that will be fun I am sure.

She already spent all day there today getting an MRI and bloodwork and Xrays and stuff - so tomorrow will be just a matter of going in and sedating her and waiting til she comes out of surgery.

This is open heart surgery so there are many different complications that can go wrong here so please pray that the entire medical crew are doing everything to the best of their ability and give us strength to get through whatever it is that we are handed.

Please do not get upset if you dont hear from us - the time in hospitals is a weird thing - sometimes a few hours can pass by very very quickly - and other times 1 hour can seem like 8............I call it the hospital time vortex - so often times we are not able to get away til about 11pm at night...........

and that is not always a convenient time to call people.

anyway - keep us in your mind and we will keep you updated.

So all you cool cats that are in the waiting line for product - sorry you are gonna have to wait a bit - hope you understand - if you dnot understand - I will be GLAD to explain my situation to you face to face at some of the many shows I go to around the country........

I had open heart 45 years ago. Had to go to the Mayo Clinic as they had never done it in Fla. Things will be OK, they have come a long ways since I had mine.

We experienced this same type of deal with our 32yrs old son 2 yrs ago. Discoverd a hugh birth defect (after all those yrs) that could have been very bad had he not had open heart surgery. Like you they had never done this surg before!! they said usually if not taken care of at birth the person doesn't live to adult hood. surgery was 9hrs long I fully understand the hospital vortex your speaking of.

get back to us when you can we will all be waiting and praying. and they have come leaps and bounds its just amazing, things will work out and your baby will be like brand new afterwards.

my son is like a new person!!!! didn't realize he was as bad off as he was!!

My brother-in-law in Vegas just had a heart attack on Friday and surgery on Saturday. So while we're praying for him, we'll discuss you and your family as well.

This is tuff on parents..I was just a stepfather and watched a child go thru this , its hard but those doctors are so dam good at this stuff. My experiance goes back 18 years..and hes still doing just fine and he just graduated from High School so you need to have hope..because thats what will get you thru this and give your child more strength just in her knowing her mom and dad have this inner strength. Its hard for a parent to trust another person with the life of one of their children, but they (cardiologists) are very very good at what they can do these days, we are blessed..and you and your child will be blessed too.
