Open Heart surgery for my baby - prayers needed

My sister and brother-in-law are fostering a baby boy who had open heart surgery when he was only about a month old, he's a year and a half now and doing well. Amazing the technology they have now. Hope everything goes well for yours.

For me this is a blessing in disguise. For you it will be a way for God to let you know he is REAL and for me it's an opportunity to "pay back" for all of the prayers sent on my behalf during a very trying time in my life. As already stated your daughter will be in good hands and with the prayers that are and will be sent she will do fine and you'll have many years to enjoy her and watch her grow into adulthood. Many years from now you'll look back as this being a special time in your life and a unique bond with your daughter and many others who are around you.
Now, I ask you to embrace this time and focus on your daughter. She needs you now more than ever. I'll pray for her and the doctors involved and for you that the surgery will be a success and very soon we all will be able to rejoice in the outcome.

My son was born with a VSD Ventricular Septal Defect aka a small hole in his heart. The Cardiologist wanted to give it until he was 4 months old to see if it would heal up by it's self and if not he had to be at least 12 lbs before they could operate. All I can tell you is that his cardiologist did nothing but exhume confidence. He was just a matter of fact kind of guy and still is. If it doesn't heal up we're going to CHOP Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and this Dr. is going to do the operation on your son he's literally written the book. I guess maybe it was just that were were both in shock but yeah it was stressful but it was made a whole lot more bearable by all the great people involved. If your baby is as young as my son was they have no memory of the operation and recover a hell of a lot faster then you or I would. When we went into the recovery room it was like someone flipped a switch and you could actually see him getting better and stronger by the hour. trust me you'll see exactly what I mean. We live in the greatest country in the world and we have the greatest Dr's and Surgeon's and facilities. Your son couldn't be in a better place and we all hope and pray everything goes well which I am confident that it will. No bullshit just one dad to another coming from a guy who has been in your shoes.

On a little side note my kid is now 5 and he's a car crazy maniac who we have trouble keeping him out of the shop and even more trouble keeping up with him. You'll see what I mean.

I am thiinking of you and your baby right now. I too have been in this situation, so I know what your experiencing. If you need anything, feel free to let me know, I cant offer much but I do know whats going on and how you feel, times two actually, one for each of my twin sons.

i was born with cardio monopothy and had holes in my heart
when i was 2 i got a heart transplant, 17 years later (19 now) im still kickin it strong, never been in the hospital except for check ups and such
