Our family just got our grandaughter home last week from the hospital. Doctors combined with Devine intervention work miracles. Prayers sent for all involved.

I read this post with an incredible sense of familiarity and compassion for your family...

Our second son was born almost 1 year ago today with Transposition of the Great Arteries, a heart defect that required open heart surgery. I had read that Boston, Philly, and Milwaukee were the best in the country, so I am sure that if those folks helping you are every bit as good or better than those that helped us in Milwaukee at Children's and your child is in very good hands.

For what it's worth, when we went through the 10 weeks in the hospital we decided to put all of our trust in these people helping him, and that what they said was all that mattered. We knew we needed to be strong too, and there was no help for our child in worrying, crying, screaming, etc. (not that it still didn't happen at times). We decided that if they said he was doing well, then he was doing well. It was hard to do at first, but it helped greatly with the stress and for us to accept the support they also offered. At times like this you will need thier support.

Also, it is hard to keep family/friends in touch with what is happening. I am not affiliated with them, but we used this site http://www.caringbridge.org/ where we could post pics, put updates etc. Sites like this are a great way to stay in touch with folks based on your schedule, and so many friends and family thanked us for having it for them to get updated with.

Prayers sent for you all, and many are here for you if you'd like to talk/vent, etc.
