    • M/T tire rubs now and would like gasser look on '39 olds. So is best way to cut radius a 1/2" less and fold it up? Small cuts or tucking tool? Tack in a 9 ga wire to wrap it around?

I would use a hammerform. I did the front fenders on my 47 Chevy that way, and it worked out very nicely.

I opened up the radius for my '39 Chev coupe gasser project to accept the 29.5" pie crust slicks. I simply marked out my radius and cut it out. Then used 1/4" round rod that I bent around a smaller tire to get the general shape. Then I welded the round rod to the inside of the radius right at the edge. Tack welds every few inches to get it fitted first, and then came back and connected all the welds. Worked great, and left a nice rounded edge. I've done it this way on numerous builds, and always works great.
