That is one serious first world problem.
Love the roadster and love the colour.
I vote leave the hood on.
Better yet send it down here (Australia) as it's not healthy to stress so much about these things.
    Wish it were mine.

Flatheads and hoods just don't go together. I was going to hood my sedan. But since I took it off to check it out there is no going back.

Why would you what to cover up that engine????? Really, it's a Hot Rod correct, I remember a lot of later year cars running without hoods in the 50s.

Don't see the problem here. Run it with a hood, no hood or just the hood top however and whenever you feel like it. Chance of rain - install the hood. Feel like showing off the flatty, remove it. It doesn't seem to me that you'd be locked in one way or the other.

Thanks to everyone! Except "bobwop"
Decided after the coupe was on the road that the coupe is my rainy day hot rod! Full hood and top. The roadster will stay as is, no hood. With both 32's I have eight tires and zero fenders!:D

I really like your car hoodless top up or down - just me, but I do. It just screams hot rod that way especially fenderless. I put the 1-pc hood just for my run out to Bonneville to protect the flattie in inclement weather. So many times I wanted to take the hood off as the weather would be so nice but there was no place to put it - my trunk was full and there was no room in the interior that's for sure.

So - in the three plus weeks on the road to Bonneville and back it rained less than 2 hours - go figure!

Murphy's law would have had it that if I did NOT run a hood I would have been in a deluge every other day - that's just the way it is ...

I'm of the school that "real hot rods don't have fenders". There are cool fendered cars, that's for sure. And after 34 it gets harder to not run them! But for Model As and 32 - 34 if it's a Hot Rod it should be fenderless.

keep the hood off, take the licence plate off the front change the tail lamps put straight headers out the side and some new whit wall tires mabe some gold scallops down the side paint the fire wall gold. gold pin stripe on the rims with red pinstripe to out line the scallops do some fancy pinstripe in the trunk lid paint some finned heads gold. just my opinion.

With your coupe having a hood, keep the roadster with out. Then you have it both ways !
