Steelies with the period small ford caps on that thing.

  2. Totally Option 3!!

Paint the wheels to match whatever the interior is, be it black, red, camo.....ok not camo but you get the idea. Chrome lugs, trim rings and spider caps would be killer. But if you really want caps 52 ford hub caps fit those wheels perfect and look way better than the poverty caps. Hell I'll send ya some if you want to run those. I have like 5 sets, I may have a hubcap/wheel problem.....

Familiar look, the 'mismatched' Tork Thrusts on rear only...but the scenario was Fremont Drags in the mid '60s. Street rear wheels & tires (and spare, jack, etc.) were in a pile, in the pits.
Popular class was "HPU", ('hot pick up') so any pickup with engine mods could run.
It only took ONE time coming out of the gate with street tires on a light-in-the-ass truck, so damn near all had Mags or wide steels with slicks!
When done racing, most put their street wheels/tires back on.
CHP was very active writing tickets for slicks on the way home...(Nimitz Freeway) Got 3 or 4 myself...

This seems like a lot of trouble for a " beater, work truck, daily driver, that I don't care about."
    I'll be in the garage.

I'd go Option 3. Since this is a beater, do the wheels in a dark gray color. They're easy to keep clean, and black wheels tend to make un-clean tires look brown. I'd probably run trim rings but I'm fancy like that. I think the tire height and "stance" are really good as it is.

IMO '57 Ford caps would look better.

You did ask for opinions. :D

  7. I have a set of old steel chrome slots that would work... full set of (4) 15x8's different offsets 5x5.5bp

My question is if you were trying to save $ why was your first instinct was to call Coker for rims. My first thought would be to go to the local auto wrecking yard and find a set of 15" Ford truck rims for the cheap. Punch ( reverse) two, put them on the back with your 31X whatever (which by the way are a good size for the back of a full size truck) get some matching tires a couple of sizes smaller for the fronts and as Atwater Mike above said paint them a color you like and put the stock small caps on.
But that is just how an old guy that was raised in the '50s broke thinks.

Cuz I'm an alliance member and I can buy a pair of coker wheels for cheap... And when was the last time you saw a pair of 5 on 5.5" wheels at a junk yard? Our yards here don't have em... And if they do, it's a good chance they are bent and won't balance and... screw all that... I'd rather spend $150 or so on some new wheels.

Really, I'd much rather just find some vintage E-T wheels in 15x7 or 6 in the right bolt pattern and be done!

    :)

  12. I like #3 but I would paint the rims black. No matter what it's a good looking truck.

something tells me this isn't just a tool as you said. You took the time to think about what wheels and make a post asking for opinions. BTW that is no beater! Its beautiful!

You could paint the fronts a matte warm gray to match the rear spokes and that would look less mismatched. But then you lose the surfer thing. I think I vote for Option 1 because it looks like the truck has a story.

  20. ^ Like joeyesmen suggested with trim rings on the front would look even less mismatched.

I've got steelies with stock caps on my '65 F-100 and it looks perfect. I don't think custom wheels add much to these trucks.

  22. Just like that with a board bolted to the front bumper and trailer hitch on the back so it looks like an old drag push truck. I really dig this way, and I voted for all steelies!

I sorta like option 1 or 2, the spokes look good on the back. Hard to decide on the poverty cap but you could swap up every so often.

Sorry Ryan different generations different thought patterns. I'll bet Atwater Mike has a stack of wheels like this. I know Petaluma Mike has a shed full of them and I bet it you ask Keith, Vern had a bunch of stacks of them. Your way is probably better and less hassle but It's the only way some of us know to do it.

All 5 spokes or all steelies with the caps, or put the 15 inch 5 spokes on the front and steelies with no caps and the bigger tires on the back until you could find 2 more 5 spokes
