Oops, did not see Sidedumps reply. He is right on. He is also the first person I know of who mentioned what I thought was my trick of using safety wire to hold the ends of exhaust wrap. IMO clamps look bad. The safety wire disappears into the wrap, and holds it better, too. I have been using it on motorcycles for years.

One more suggestion - lose the alternator/belt guard and replace it with a Delco generator, probably mounted off to the side or down south.

  2. Sidedump - I just ordered a clamptite, black cap & chrome advance cover - thanks for the input - much appreciated.

Another idea. Instead of moving the alt. Have a cooling fan made for it to look like an 80's corvette wheel. This will bring it into the jet era and match the air cleaner. Reason for adding the 3 beads to the top of your air cleaner is because it looks like it's on backwards.
This is why I have nothing done.
Too many ideas at one time.

My vote would be for leaving it black, and adding a LOT more chrome.

My 34's engine is painted the same color as the car...maroon. As is the alternator, power steering pump, and the valleys of my Cal Custom valve covers. I like the setup. However, your car is black and that would need a little brightening.

I like the copper suggestion. Red is nice but too many cars have it now.

Red or Orange will be nice just like everyone else's car out there .
But I think a Copper color engine with Black car looks GREAT !

  9. What ever you do, That's sharp looking T. It's got good bones.

  10. My addiction was Pontiac blue, I just love that color on an engine but it would be very out of place here :)
