One look at ******Knuckles' examples should seal the deal. It's DeSoto caps with bias ply WWW's for me too. As for the "Boyds", this is the HAMB!
Nova front clip, Plymouth rear (air ride), 58 Chrysler 392 Hemi engine, small block MoPar 727 ******, stock seats covered in gray/burgundy cloth, stock dash, stock gauges. Wheels and caps, I had. I borrowed the tires. Thanks, Jackie
Of those four choices, Desoto. The tires don't match though. The tires remind me of the tires that came stock on something like a '71 Ford Country Squire or a Maverick. I think it would look better with more rubber. The OD of the tires looks kind of too small for that car.
DeSoto wheel covers with a wider whitewall tire - first preference, if it were mine. The Coddington wheels with the blackwalls - second choice. They look nice on that car.
I have '47 chrysler windsor 7p***enger sedan and unfortunly it has the larger ch***is which means it has 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. I got my disc brake kit from AAJ brakes of Oregan. I'm having trouble finding rims that will work. Roger (AAJ brakes) said '73/'74 ford pickup rims are what I need. The center, pilot, hole is big, like 4 7/8" and the wheel books go bake to '75. Do you have the large ch***is? I vote for DeSoto script full hubcaps. I'll probable use chrysler ones
3 and 4 are out. 2 is probably most preferred by hamb, but 1 really does look best overall. (shoot me, they look best) Me, I'd keep looking at options.
I really appreciate everyones input. I was surprised, but I preferred the DeSoto after I saw them, and I 110% agree on wide whites, but being retired (or insert 'old' here), and taxes I had to pay, it is going to be a very long while before I can afford the wide whites. They are way pricey. Jackie
