I'd run the Coddingtons until you can afford the wide whites then put the Desoto caps and wide whites on.
I am a stickler for continuity, Jack. The roll pan in the rear says early sixties to me. So, I think chromies with baby moons and pinner whites. In a larger size tire than in your pics. If money is too tight for chromies, go with shiny black steelies with baby moons and pinners. Lose the spots and maybe roll the front pan, for continuity, and you'll have a time machine to 1961 or so. Ya know, this thread would be a lot shorter if you hadn't baited the Flat Earth Society with the Boyd's wheels. How 'bout some 3/4 shots so we can see the grill and rear modifications?
I guess I don't care two hoots for continuity. I just want to use what looks good to me and I think on this car, the DeSoto caps and skinny whites look real good. Makes the car look clean to my eye, but then, what do i know?? Most of my stuff never made it out of primer.....ever.....
I like the Desoto caps too. You can make the thin whites wider if you're into that sort of thing. Taller tires would set the car off better with any of the wheels.
