body looks nice and straight, has shiny paint, sits nice, looks kinda mysterious, looks better with the front end on.
[ QUOTE ] comments on this car welcome [/ QUOTE ] Looks like a Volvo, got foreign plates on it. Has billet wheels and aluminum radiator. Sits nice, paint looks good, tires are fat...traditional, it's not! Don't think this is the forum for it. R-
I like it. And I think it's funny that there can be posts here about tattoos, rockabilly ********, dead people, music, and every other ****ing thing imaginable and no one says anything. But if someone posts something about an ACTUAL CAR that doesn't perfectly fit the mold, people freak out. Just my opinion, but I'd rather look at those pictures than read about some non-car related ******** any day of the week.
sorry, i was just curious what people thought. i know this is a traditional board i just thought people might appreciate work put into other cars. ill refrain from posting foreigns in the future. thanks for that link though, i hadnt read that.
I'd like to know a little about it also. I've noticed tons of foreign stuff on the MOONEYES JAPAN site (surprise!) but old foreign stuff-it's cool to see old foreign cars that have been rodded. Anglias...ahhhhh...
I like it! ( I also like the 1800S in my garage) I'd like it more with chrome bumpers or actually rolled pans and nerf bars. How is the front end framed up since the unibody has been compromised? It's more traditional than a '67 Rambler 4door sedan with black tractor paint and glitter flames "custom", so poo poo on the poo pooers!
I kinda dig it and with a few selctive changes could be very cool. I always kind of thought those Volvos looked like a mini-shoebox. Definately looks better with the front end on it...
nice body work. definitely too modern for this board, but put some chrome bumpers on it, www tires and some flipper caps...straight money!
[ QUOTE ] Bad *** car Wrong forum ... [/ QUOTE ] Curious... Does anyone know of the "right" forum for this car? It's a "foreign" car customized using "traditional" American custom ideas so it surely won't fit in a "Euro-Tuner" forum. It doesn't have the right number of wings and spoilers and ground effects parts on it for a tuner forum. If it doesn't fit here it's because there is another "nitch" that it does fit in, after all it is NOT in a category of one. If you know it belongs to a category (label) different from this one then you must know what that category is, so name it. So, name that URL!!! If there is such a place, that's also where Gene Winfield's "Reactor" (Citroen based) Show car, Jeffries Maserati suspension based Mantaray and most of Ed Roth's "Furrin car" motivated Artworks and all the Compe***ion coupe and g***er Anglias and Topolino's go to I suppose? A '65 VOLVO, 122 series, P1800 was "hotrodded" at Holman-Moody right next to the Ford GT 40s when they were having their FORD powerplants installed. The Volvo got a FORD V8 too. Hotrodded VOLVO's, hotrodded in the USA in 1964! That makes it as traditional as Dandy **** Landy.
its alright i wuld change the wheel/tire combo, and from the looks of it i would have to change the interior bench seats WITH NO HEADRESTS and put a chrome bumper on it, but thats my opinion. it kinda looks like a mercury roof, shoebox body, and 56 chrylsler 300 b grill. is cool definatly not in the mainstream of cars which is a good thing
Personally, I would change the tires and chrome the bumper, but other than that it is a traditional kustom. There were plenty of foreign cars customized in the day. Too bad you arn't a celebrity. These guys would be falling all over you telling you how innovative you are for thinking outside the box and bringing customizing in to the future. It's a good looking car. Build it for yourself, not for the crowd. Craig
Nice, probably very nice Got any more info on it? Personally I dont care what the *** kissers on here say. I wonder how strait there primered bondo barges are with some shine applied?
for those interested... "I widened the car 15cm (6 in) in the middle and chopped 7,5 cm (3in).The bumpers are moved 10cm ,(4in) to the ground front and back. Trim and handles are gone. Head and tail lights are frenched, not the common way they are moved into the fenders instead of stretching the fenders. It´s my opinion that one should use the stock lines of a car when you customize it, not cut it to pieces....." "I cut the car in the middle untill the backseat. There I cut it to the front edge of the wheel wells, which I widen 7,5 cm, 3 in, on each side. So the car wasn´t cut in two pieces but in three. Behind the wheel wells I put a battery on each side. Dad shook his head and mom just laughed. Maybe it was funny to see the car in three half's." "The middle is from an other roof, the seam is aprox 25cm, 10 in, from the outside. That´s how far I can reach with my spot welder. If you need to know more, you just don´t need to know more.." the body is leaded http://xpress.mine.nu/frankzz/53.jpg BODY Widened 15cm, 6in, chopped 7,5 cm, 3in, bumpers moved 10 cm, 4in, front and back. i agree, id put some steelies with caps, wide whites, chrome bumpers, maybe one of those drawer pull knob grills- i really like these but i never see them being put on kustoms or anything. are they not cool anymore? well i think they are.
i agree, but i guess some people just think domestics can be. i just think its cool when someone puts so much time and effort into their car (aside from buying body kits that bolt or snap on or double sided taping wings on)
That's because some people just don't get it....a *****in, hand built car, should be checked out no matter what it is....that's how we learn....Some people are stuck in a rut, cursed with tunnel vision...just like restorers.
