Not that it really matters because I'm doing the car to please ME...not YOU...but....I have an all original...mostly restored ,1951 Ford custom ( shoebox ). I would like to build a "Hot Rod" flathead for the ride...Is it best to pull the original, running, stock motor and crate it up ( hold on to it ) and build one from scratch or build off the original engine block ? just asking incase of resale...maybe somebody is more interested in a numbers matching original if I ever decide to sell. Believe me, I'm not building a car to sell it...but sometimes things come up. Also...whats the best direction to go in for slamming the car to the ground ? Old school spindles and springs or air bags ? don't really want to cut into the frame for a C notch...Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

    Interesting post...

Starting out with telling us to mind our own business, and then asking for all kinds of advise.

    Good luck...

  3. Sounds to me like a conundrum, oxy***** and conflicting emotions. With that said whats this "numbers matching" business? What numbers are you trying to preserve?

Opinion? Yes, the '666' (you DO know it is Satan's number) in your HAMB name is really outlaw like. On to the car. Stepped A-Arms/shorter coils up front. De-arched leaves or a block to drop the rear. Ever drive a lowered vehicle? Static dropped (no bags) was the way it was mainly done 'till the most recent wave of air bag tech. Keep it conservative and it will also be cheaper and simple to maintain. The motor bit will take more in pre planning, daily driver (interstate too) or stout ******** temperamental boiler?

What he means is, if your opinion agrees with mine, that will feed my ego and make me feel good. If your opinion is different than mine, than your a loudmouth ***hole telling me how to build my car. Try to guess what I am thinking. :D Its how most HAMB posts go with the words "opinion" or "is _____ traditional" in the ***le...
