Like many here I have amassed more projects than I'll likely ever get to. Adding to the problem, I lost my father to cancer earlier this year and I now have all of his projects. I have a game plan for Dad's stuff, but I need advice on my*****. I have two Model A Tudor bodies, sans subframes, a clapped out '30 A coupe body and the rusty remains of a '31 Chysler roadster body. I've been thinking of taking this stuff to Billet Proof this weekend but I was on ebay last night and saw how stuff in similar and nicer condition were selling for a fraction of what they did a few months ago. Now keep in mind I know I don't have a gold mine here but I also don't want to give them away either. I'm in a position where I don't NEED to sell them but it would be nice to have some space back. So do I waste a Saturday telling a bunch of people NO or do I hold on to things a little longer? In Michigan's economy are there people still buying projects? Reading a thread about saving EVERY '32 coupe made me want to hold on to my A stuff cause it isn't costing me anything but space. I could use some advice from others please.

    Thanks,
    Amsvette

Pick a price and list them on the classifieds here....some people are still buying and the economy is recovering...it must be true I saw it on the news!

Quality always sells, junk is harder to push. Just depends on where your projects sit in that range. Many people are just tired of fearing the economy and are coming out of their shells.

As for Ebay, I have always found cars/projects on there sell for lower prices then local. I prefer to look at a car in person, then buy,, rather then get the good ole "ebay suprise".

  5. I still buy as many as I can...because I am a capitalist swine. If I play my cards right I end up with the stuff I actually need at no charge.Buying, parting out or selling whole...just doing my part for the economy!

If you don't need to sell it, pick the price you want to get and advertise it here and on Craigslist where it doesn't cost you anything. If someone steps up, great, if they stay, hang on to them longer.

I have a few cars that I would sell but I'm not going to give them away, I'm in a position like you, where I could use the space but I'm not at all desperate to sell.

There certainly are buyers right now, but they have the pick of the litter at the moment, and many are holding out for that desperate seller bargain. Parts are selling as good as they ever have, but projects are a bit tougher to sell right now, so pick your price and stand your ground.

If you want to get the most out of what you have, take the stuff to Louisville, KY for the Nats in August. The swap meet area moves a lot of stuff. You should get a good price there because people actually know what its worth.
