was good last night, but they did leave enough tix (i think 65 or so) for at the gate sales....i knew a few people who wanted to go but thought it was sold out. met bad bob, laid in the back of the panel and was on the channel 4 news........all in all was good.
my mom told me she saw bad bob and me and the family on the channel 7 news at 11. she said she tivo'd it so i check it out tomorrow. i also did an interview with some reporter from kfwb radio. it was a fun night i will be going back for sure.
Well I saw it on the cbs 6:00 news and thought hey I have nothing to lose by going down to try to get tickets at the gate, I only live 5 min. away. Couldnt bring The Vomet but Im glad I went, it was a good time...except for security h***eling asher and us for stupid stuff. ha, i parked right behind ramrod2624 and the lady from channel 4 hopped inside the panel and interviewed us. i'm not a talker if i don't know someone and it think she didn't like my answers being so short, she kept holding the mic infront of me after i was done. we should do it again, this time i will make it to the meet-up spot and see if we can take up the whole front row.
Ya what the hell was that. "You cant have your tail gate up past 6 feet. You cant park at a angle we are getting complaints." Other then the security on a power trip it was awesome. It brought back soooo many memories for me.
Ya next movie I will have my car there for sure. If we can get a bunch of people with there cars to come down and take over the front row that would be amazing. If any of you who didn't go plan on going soon if you bring your car and you don't have a FM radio in it bring a boom box. they transmit the sound via FM.
I didn't even think of asking him to come. knowing him though I doubt he would have wanted to see shrek.
They are showing movies there now 7 days a week, But if we get people to bring their cars once a month or something that would be great.
You know this is a good idea. HAMB Drive-in Movie Night We can do this one Friday a month for the 8pm showing when they change films.
The only bad part of this setup in this parking lot they are using is that you dont get an angle on your car like the original drive ins. Remember all the big bumps in all the old drive in parking lots? Im going to bring car ramps next time to compensate.
My wife yelled at me"hey you're on channel 7 News!" I couldn't change the channel fast enough,so I missed it. But,I got interviewed by a guy from the OC Register. It was on page 4,front sec. I put a plug in for the HAMB,but they didn't print it. Sorry Ryan...I tried! I'm gonna see what's playing next weekend. If it's Pirates o t Carribean,i'm going back! I can't go to Paso,and it's out of my control. O well. Also,I talked to one of the guys in charge and he said if we get a bunch of old cars and get there early,we can have the front row! But we would have to be there at 6:00,in line. I'm definatly going back. Next time i'm bringing a blanket,though. It was cold!

Bad Bob on the news, awesome. If you go see Pirates, keep an eye out for "Pirate Dreadman", I'm going to see it tomorrow for the first time, hope I made the cut.
I've got over heating problems...looks like a double water pump replacement for the flathead. We pegged at 250 degrees and barfed a little of the green stuff in the drive in. I'm outta comission until we can make the change. Any volunteers for "HAMB Pump Swap 07"?
Thanks Guys! I was just kidding, but what the hell. I need to pick up a couple of pumps...Speedway seems to be the place that gets reccomended the most. I also need to figure out what "type" of flattie I've got (8BA, 59AB, etc). I've never really looked into it much. It's a 24 stud...anyone who can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated. It will probably take a few weeks to get all of the items together, but we'll set it up at my place in Orange. It does not "appear" to be too difficult...hopefully a few hours or so. This should be a regular HAMB thing...anybody else need something done? Of course, I'll provide the carne asada BBQ and some frosty beverages as well.

Okay re-opening night is Sat. August 11 . The OC fair is going on right now so they had to stop showing movies. WHOS GOING? maybe kopis korpse for sure Bad Bob dirt Rusty Rod I sent an email to the owners to see if I could reserve a row or two up front for "cl***ic cars", if anybody missed it last time now is your chance. We wont need to meet anywhere prior if we have a reserved spot, just drive in. Maybe we can get there a little early to meet and greet? Ill keep everyone posted about their response. They dont have a movie listed for that date but who cares..its a drive in http://www.star-vu.com/ HAMBers made it in the papers last time.
