Here is my "Bright Orange Metallic" Alpine, courtesy of Kirker Paints.

I am not a student of paints, but I think this stuff is a little different. The major portion of the color is from the orange metallic flakes and not conventional pigments.

I've had to endure a few unsolicited editorial comments about mine over the years, but I still love it (avatar).

Here's mine. I just had the paint supplier try to match the powder coating on my chassis. He got it pretty close but didn't keep track of what toners he used so when it comes to touch ups - I'm S.O.L.

I saw this 49 Pontiac on ebay a few years ago and really liked the color. I thought about painting my 52 Pontiac this color or one close to it, but it'll probably end up gloss black instead.

That's because it is f-ing pink.

Speaking of color schemes, for the most part you seem to be stuck with black. If the orange is fairly dark, it will give chrome a pretty good snap. The arsty-fartsy color wheels say that turquoise is the complimentary color. The big question: Do you have the guts to do it? I was going to paint my wheel hubs turquoise, but my "better half" countermanded the order.

Technically my car is Ford "Poppy Red", but it usually looks orange, especially in bright sunlight.

FYI the blue belt was the best wide belt available on a sunday morning. It was a mowing deck belt from tractor supply!
