As excited as I was to FINALLY see pictures (and a neat video)of the recently refurbished Orbitron...I cant help think how Big Daddy would dig all this hoop la about the car he disliked most (Disliked probably second to wishbone, which he cut into pieces)

I think this quote explains it best

"I shoulda named it the titanic because it was like tryin to hold onto this giant sinkin ship." Ed Roth Tony Thackers book...

I'm not puttin down the Orbitron, it's always been a favorite of mine. What I laugh about is all these cats sayin, big daddy would love it! He'd be smilin right now! I dont think so, here's another quote

"I sold it to some dude in Texas about 1969 and hope it never surfaces again. YECH!" Ed Roth Pat Ganahl book...

I can see big daddy shakin his head at all this effort and attention put to this car that he thought was so terrible...

Anyone who helped revamp it have any thoughts? And does anyone have anymore pictures besides the ones already on other threads?

BUT! Seein pictures of that groovy car still sends chills down my spine
I even painted a shirt to honor its resurfacing.

They found the Mona Lisa in a pile of stuff after Leo kicked too.

There's only's only one way for a Artist to keep the public from "enjoying" what he considers his lesser work and that is to cut it up into smaller pieces than he did the wishbone.

(Wishbone = One of my favorite Roth cars)

The only part of Obitron I like(ed) was the front. The rear is bland and awkward looking.
I bet someone's got the original front on their livingroom wall!

I read the other threads. A buncha guys talking about who was at the unveiling, and why they shouldnt have been there, and more talk about how great it is to see another survivor...Nothing mentioning Big Daddy's dislike for the car.

DrJ, Wishbone is one of my favorites, maybe it'll get a similar facelift to Orbitron an Druid Princess.

  8. Maybe noy but. mention of what his thoughts of what was going on was mentioned.
