just wondering how the quality of parts and ordering from them was, or is there any other places you guys use with good service and parts, just started building a 1950 chevy truck and need a good parts house to do business with, thanks for your answers and time
i ordered a gas tank/sending unit from them for a50 chevy hoping it wouold fit in my girlfriends 50 pontiac told them upfront front well it didnt fit either one so i called them back and told them they wouldnt work and they said oh ok no problem ship em back on us no troubles so yes id order from them again
They've always treated me right. I've bought quite a bit from them. I even called once to ask about some cheap mirrors they had. They guy flat out told me "I wouldn't put 'em on my car".
I have ordered a bunch of parts from them as well as stopped by their shop while p***ing thru town. never had an issue with anything from them. If they have two of the same part and it states one is better, it will be better and it usually the recommended part even if it cost a little more. they guys seem to know their stuff.
after checking all the adresses i was looking for some close to missouri or east of the rockies, so i could keep my turn around within 2 to 3 business days, if not i would rather wait on parts and get good quality and support, thanks for the help
I ordered from hecklers early chevy one time and what they had advertised, the description and the picture was what I wanted. I received the item and it wastptally different. I called them and they were ok with checking stock to see if something was wrong and admitted they were wrong. They faxed a call tag and u shipped the item back. That was the goof part. It took 6 weeks to get my refund. I wasn't too happy.

Bought many parts for my 37 from them and will still buy from them, with them and the other vendors I buy parts from I always put in the order that if any part is on back order please contact me before shipping my order. It always seems like the part I really need is back ordered and the other non needed parts I ordered to make it worth the shipping is what they have in stock.

I've had good luck with them and with Ecklers. Won't hesitate to buy from either one of them in the future, in fact I'm planning on it.
I've ordered from them.. good service and quality.. as was said before.. the Car and Truck Shop in Orange is a great source for parts.. Ive been going there since my teens! Heres the link.. http://www.truckandcarshop.com/
You might check with L M C Truck in Lenexa, Ks......in the greater Kansas City area. Here's a link to their web page................... http://www.lmctruck.com/
I have got quite abit from Chevs of the 40's when I was building a 2 ton truck, some parts would fit some didn't the salesman and i talked about this when I would order stuff and if it didn't fit I'd ship it back, in some cases it was the only way we could tell if the parts was the same from a pickup to a truck or from year to year, very easy to deal with and would usually pull and ship parts the same day. Truck shop in Orange I wouldn't give the time of day to, you call them and they ask you for your phone number and then tell you some oen will call you back and hang up on you, 3 or 4 hrs later some one calls by then its too late to ship that day, in fact it seems to take them a couple days to ship, their parts are a little cheaper but their time factor doesn't work for me.
never had any problems with them. i always compare their prices with nationalchevrolet's prices. chev of the 40's seem a little cheaper in price which is a lot better.
Never had an issue with them over several orders. They even were helpful fixing a screwup that was my fault, not theirs. I'll be putting in another order soon.
Ditto on the Truck and Car shop of Orange and it's only a half hour drive for me. Ordered a spotlight from Chevsofthe40s one time and they sent me a new style spotlight. When I called to complain, all I got was a bunch of baloney about the spotlight being the right one (as shown in their catalog, which is a old style Unity, which I didn't get). It was such a h***le to deal with it and then I had to pay to send the damn thing back. I never did business with them again and would not recommend them to anyone. Brothers used to be good but lately they have fallen back on their quality and quan***y. I had to wait over a month for a part that didn't fit right. Got my money back without the h***le that I received from Chevsofthe40s. Heres a link to the Truck and Car shop as well as Cl***ic Parts and Jim Carter http://www.truckandcarshop.com/ http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/ http://www.cl***icparts.com/
I've been buying from them for 15 years or more. Never had a problem that was not resolved to my satisfaction. They even let me return a part I had ordered twice by mistake a year ago. They're my first choice for Chevy parts.
Always seem to have the parts I need for my 40 Chevy. They ship well packed and quickly. Prices are ok most of the time.
Haven't had a problem with them, but Cl***ic Parts is usually a little cheaper. They all sell the same parts, it just comes down to price and service.
lOVE CHEVS OF THE 40'S, I have always had good luck with them having what I need answering truthfully. I also like grumpy's in phoenix. but they are always a bit grumpy. no joke they always seem to be in a gruff mood there. seem to be nice people who really know their stuff
The Filling Station is another good source of parts for early chevys. They are out of Lebanon, Oregon. Web site is www.fillingstation.co. I have had super luck with them
When building my AD trucks, I have used Truckshop...The cheapest, because they are the retail side of Counterpart Reproductions.....Cl***ic Parts, I am a member of their forum......Jim Carter for oddball stuff others don't carry, and Dave's Truck Parts in Claremont, NC....mainly because he is 1 hr. from me.
Had good service from Chev's of the 40's, LMC and Brothers. Sorry I can't say the same for Truck Shop.
Had great service from Chev's, and also highly recommend "The Filling Station" as well. They stand by their stuff and take care of you if there's any issues. Either one is great.
Truck shop in orange California has been offering 10% discount on orders sometime in November. Get on their mailing list and you will get a flyer with details. Cl***ic parts also has a discount code. (google it) I have had good luck with chevs of 40's, Majority of the parts I ordered came from cl***ic parts. Also check out American cl***ic truck parts. Jin carter. (poor web site)
