    Reds are typically higher priced than other colors regardless of paint type, supposedly cost of pigments.

    Just curious, why do you want to shoot a lacquer based product?

    T.C.P. global in san diego,ca. ppg [expensive], or their own brand [reasonable]

    I really want to paint the car myself, so a soft paint that buffs easily sounds really good to me. The fact that it's more original is a nice bonus too.

    Bill Hirsch and and Hibernia Restoration also sell nitrocellulose and acrylic lacquer.

    Lacquer is very forgiving, even the newer acrylic stuff. I used an acrylic urethane on my Ford cut in and trim work which went on very well.
