I have not been on here for awhile, but I need some help. I have a 1933 Pontiac that was running well. Turned it off and it has not started since. Coil, cap points condenser have been replaced. I'm getting spark from the coil. On my wires to the plug I get one spark and thats all. It cranks but will not start. I had a friend check the draw with a meter and it looks like when I crank it goes down. Any suggestions will help. Could my distributor gone bad?
Did you replace the rotor? If you are getting spark from the coil, you can check the rotor by cranking the engine with the distributor cap off and holding the coil wire close to the rotor. It should not throw a spark to the rotor. If it does you have a cracked or carbon tracked rotor.
The rotor had been replaced. I will try it tomorrow and if I get spark I will replace the rotor. If I don’t get spark what else can I try.
I by passed my ignition and still no start. I will try another condenser. At this point I’m willing to try another one. Thanks for the ideas.
