Original Apache interiors

Hello All,

Does anyone have any pics of original interiors of 55-59 chevy trucks?

Also does anyone know who sells exact copies? I am looking to re-furbish and reupholster my seat and trying to stay true to original. Not many of the companies that sell the kits (that I have found) have decent pictures to go along with what they are selling.

I know there are a lot of task force truck threads but I really cant tell what is actually original. Not many people take pics of their seats so the search is been tough.

Anyone know if the upholstery was the same as that used in the cars of the same years?

I missed that era by a few years

 

To my knowledge, the interiors were not the same as the cars.

I believe there was the standard interior and the deluxe interior. The base standard interior was a heavy vinyl upholstered seat with plain painted steel door panels and a sun visor on the drivers side. A p***enger side visor was optional and were arm rests. The deluxe interior was a vinyl and cloth (houndstooth) upholstered seat with matching door panels, arm rests and dual sun visors. A rubber floor mat was standard in both.

If I'm wrong about any of this, I'm sure someone will be along to set the record straight.

Somewhere over at www.stovebolt.com I have seen pictures of an original very low mileage TF truck with deluxe interior. The guys at the stovebolt site are a good resource if you are looking to stay original.

I didn't find any overall interior photos but Ciadella's is a VERY good source for interiors. They only list 55-57 Cameo interior kits, but these would work in a 59 Apache. These kits are available in all vinyl as well as the original cloth and vinyl.

Both their quality and service are EXCELLENT. When I get started again on my 55 Cameo, or my 59 GMC, this is where the upholstry will come from.

Bringing back an oldie making some progress. Saxman, did the visor match the vinyl color on the seat? Or was black the only option?

My truck has a standard interior. I have the full vinyl seat and single visor. My seat was re-covered a 3 times. I have the OG green vinyl seat underneath it all but a black visor. It is possible that my seat could have been replaced at some point.
