Fixing up a 63' c20 (283 with HD rear axle). The exhaust needs to be replaced but I cant find any images of what the original layout for the exhaust pipes were. Currently the trucks got a dual exhaust dumping out the p***enger side just in front of the rear tire. I ***ume that's not correct. If anyone has images/drawings I would appreciate it greatly.

The truck also has a Rochester 4Jet carburetor. Was that what was originally on the truck? All other reference I can find points to a 2 barrel, but the intake I have looks original and is setup for a 4 barrel.

12.1This post is useless without pictures.jpg

    Rochester 4 jet carb? ??
Also hard to explain without seeing something as far as exhaust goes.
    Sorry

You might get an idea by looking at say LMC Trucks, etc, for a “replacement” exhaust. They usually have good illustrations. Of course you’d have to mentally put what they show together, but should be able to tell.
That said, why not just have a new system run they way you want it? I/e out the back, etc.

Not original however it wouldn't be hard to replicate as it goes over rear axle. This example has a balance pipe

you can get an idea of what the intake is off of by looking for the casting date code, something like E 23 4, which will tell you the month/day/year it was made. It's probably off something besides the truck...but it might match the engine, which also has some numbers on it that will tell you what it came out of. stamped on the top of the block, in front of the p*** side head, and cast on the back top of the block, over the flywheel, hard to see because the firewall is in the way.

Trucks with small blocks didn't get 4bbl carbs until 1966.
