I am looking for recommendations on gauge / instrument restoration spe******ts. I would prefer a one stop shop for cosmetic and electrical/mechanical repairs with conversion to 12V. I searched for other threads on the topic but could not find good info here. Let me know who is good out there. thanks
I just lost my go to guy as he has been diagnosed with leukemia. So I am in need of someone also. 1942 Ford instrument cluster
Check with Roger at Speedometer Service in Milwaukee http://www.speedometersolutions.com/ If he cannot help you he should be able to direct you to someone who can do what you need. Jim
I've posted this info previously, MoMa Manufacturing, (505) 766-6661, Albuquerque, NM. At one time they were located in North Hollywood, Calif and have been in NM for many years. They've repaired and restored many Stewart Warner gauges for me and many friends. Another friend restored a '32 Packard 4-door sedan and had MoMa restore all the original dash gauges. Looks like new. I haven't dealt with them for while so potential customers should call them for information.
I've used these guys, https://www.abbottinstrumentrestoration.com/. They aren't fast or cheap, but their work is first cl***. They did a 50 Ford instrument cluster that I put in my Model A. I'm very pleased with the result.
Seattle Speedometer, which despite the name is now located in Ellensburg, Eastern Washington. Great work, ships everywhere, hell of a customer list. http://seattlespeedometer.com
I was happy with Williamson's for the 12 volt conversion on the clock for my '54 Ranch wagon. Spoke several times with the owner by phone about the clock conversion as well as other 6 to 12 volt conversion issues. When the clock was shipped I was mistakenly charged for the full amount even though I had paid an initial deposit. The owner again called me personally to explain the mistake and that it had already been corrected, which it was. Definitely great customer service and quality workmanship as well.
I just got mine back from Willamson's and was very pleased. It took longer than I thought it would but they are very nice. Great communication, and great service. Tony
