i have a power steering gear box labled gm 7819688. i am trying to replace it. the parts store says they have multipule versions of the saginaw 605 box. flared, o-ring, 2 turn vs 4 turn. 4 bolt mounting, square vs round. i know however this box fits and clears my current setup, i just want to remove and replace. but i cant seem to tell them what it originaly came off of to get this exact box.

Have you tried googling the P/N? That usually works for me.

Take a picture,,measure AND count the splines on the input shaft(either 3/4" or 13/16" and 30 or36 spline ), count the # of turns lock to lock, and look at the existing pressure line (double flare or o-ring type )..
    Post all the above.
Then I can give you an application that you can give the parts guy...
The original #s on the unit may not be a good guide if it has been rebuilt before..
