We want to mount our F1 steering column shaft (1 1/2" OD) using a connecting rod. The only orphan rod we have is a very clean looking Oliver racing rod and the crank ID is a standard 2 1/8". We could make it work with bearinings and rubber but thought it would be cool to us an orig**** 4-banger rod. Anyone know what the crank ID is on the orig**** motor?

    Thanks,

You are in luck, kinda sorta. The stock model A crank journals are 1 1/2 (when the engine was new), but, the rod will need good babbit to be the 1 1/2 you seek. I do not know how much larger the rod journal hole is with out babbit, I could go look.
The rod cap could be milled down or belt sanded for some squish to clamp the tube.

br... Thanks, I'm not worried about being a little oversized.. I would actually prefer it. I would like to use a piece of rubber to fill the space. Now I need to get on the cl***ified board and look for an orphan Rod.

    Thanks Again
