Great job so far. Just read the whole thread and enjoyed it all. Thanks for sharing your work. I’m looking forward to more.
I can’t say enough good about the wood kit I got from Brad Brown in Friday Harbor WA. Fits perfectly without cutting, beautifully finished, with quality fasteners. I highly recommend him. bradswoodshop@hotmail.com Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Nailhead in a 34. It can be done, but it isn’t easy. When you have a large starter (I just can’t bring myself to use a compact gear reduction unit) an F-1 steering box and clutch linkage, vying for the same 12 sq. in. Of space, it gets crowded. I’ve found it necessary to move the engine/trans centreline 3/4” to the right. It isn’t noticeable unless you really study it, but it is what it is. This gives me 1/2” between the steering box and starter. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Yes, but your hemi is wider and an adapter is made. I’ve not seen one for an early nailhead. Just need more improvisation. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Getting anxious to get the final few details wrapped up and get the body off for paint. Getting close to that. The model A brake actuator arm above, attaches to a cross brace from post/post to support the dash and add rigidity. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
I’ve been working on a few things, just haven’t taken the time to post..here goes. Front axle is a V8-60 tube, spindles are round back with dropped steering arms, just sneaking under the lower hairpin link. Wishbone knuckles are 38, paired down on the miller to a nice thickness. The steps in the machining will be ground flat and blended. The spring will be behind the axle 2.5” and the perch 2” below stock height. I made the template today to have the batwing plates CNC Laser cut from 3/8” then it can all be welded together and finished.
