does anyone have front, side, and top schematics of cars/trucks from this era? or perhaps might know of a place where i can get them?

im using them for 3D models and its important that i get clearances and measurements correct. thanks!

I'm sure that you know you can get frame dimensions from Wescott.

    I've found a few side elevations at www.fordbarn.com and www.ahooga.com .

Which model year and body style are you looking for?

Plan9, If your modeling a 28-9 rpu I can save you the time. If your doing a 28-29 roadster I can save you the effort of modeling the cowl. If your doing some other A I would like a file!! [IMG]

    thanks for the info [IMG]

duece rails - iam looking for anything in the 1928-1936 range, (any ford roadster, coupe or truck thats popular in the hotrod scene)

oldtin - iam probably going to do an A p/u since i have the side view.. but i need the front and top views to keep the proportions correct. if i cant find anything with a top, side, and front ill probably do the top and front myself with photo reference. im starting off stock so i can keep things lined up correctly when i do the mods to it. if you can read .iges, .dxf, .obj i can hook you up, i know these polygon formats can be read into 3D autocad.

as an example of what im looking for, i got this side view of a p/u from the HAMB

    Crease, Its Unigraphics.
Plan9, I can read most of the model exchange formats, my favorite is parasolid format (.X_T)
I used to have a image of a 30-31AA that I think had front and rear views, probably lost it when my old computer died. I'll look and see what I can find.

Plan9, I searched for the AA drawing, no luck. If you think it will help I will look for a hardcopy and scan it.
Might take a while, I'd have to hook the scanner up to the kids computor. Let me know if you want it.

right on oldtin!! [IMG] i was looking for 36 p/u schematics. what i can probably do if we cant locate good ortho's is take pics of a stocker, then plot curves in 2D which would basically give me a schematic and the shape of the car/truck, from there i can pull the spline cage the width of the vehicle... kinda like how we make creature models in the business.

burndup - you are welcome to any of my creations... i just gotta get them modeled/textured/lit

thanks for the help folks... im digging around the net for more information... theres gotta be blueprints out there. if i find anything ill post it here

this site is mostly late models, but has excellant how to's/blueprints for things other than cars and resources on 3D software

for those of you interested in learning how to do product design, theres an educational release of one of the top 3D animation tools out there, its a free download and has tons of online tutorials...

Plan9, I did some digging and found the 30-31AA drawing, got it scanned in, so here it is.
I have a group over at yahoo groups to collect drawings and links to drawings. Its not very active, but you may want to check it out. Its at autodataspecs group
