Man a buddy of mine just called and asked if I'd seen this post, I did not know Johnny very well but a fair number of years back when he had House of Chop in SC he dropped my 64 Caddy for me. I spent a lot of time hanging in the office bullshitting with him, what a cool, nice guy. Lots of nice stuff in the shop and great ideas, Johnny was a very talented guy, and more important to me was just a straight up guy. I'm really sorry to hear he passed so young but at least he LIVED his life which is a lot more that most do. So good on ya Johnny for making the best of the time you had! Ride free brother.....
That is really sad and shocking news. I got to meat Johnny at Sturgis last year where he was one of the "feature" builders in the Hard Rock Seminole beer garden. I started up a conversation with him and he didn't know me from Adam but we had quite a nice chat. When I asked him if he also had any neat cages in the same style of his bikes the conversation got even better. When I slipped him my business card his eyes lit up and he blurts out "Hey you did my old club the Road Zombies plaques! Great to meat ya man." We went on for a while talking about Buddy Doogie(sp?0 and Von Franko who had done the artwork, etc. Just a real nice conversation one motorhead to another which makes our sport(s) so neat. And that's what makes it all the more personal when we lose a fellow motorhead - especially one with so much talent and innovation yet to be let loose. R.I.P Johnny Dennis
