Man, I sure hate to hear this kind of thing. It seems that we hear it every day now and that somehow it is not real until it happens to you. I wish you well and hope that when you come out on the other side it is better. Good luck

Agreed and also instead of pitching a tent in someone else's yard and complaining, how about coming up with some good ideas of your own to help fix things? Until we as Americans stop blaming and suing everyone else for our problems, then the real problem itself will never get fixed. We need to man up, take our licks and pull our **** up by our bootstraps and do some real hard work to make things better. Not just sit around whining and crying while listening to fat, drug addict ***hats on the radio complain about everyone else and pointing fingers everywhere other than themselves.

And yeah, fire all those jerks at AIG. They owe that company some back pay, let alone don't even deserve a bonus. Why give someone a bonus who actually deserves to be fired? Pisses me off as much as anyone and at least they are trying to see what they can do about it. And let's not forget the pervious king of the white house is the one who gave them all that money.

Sorry to hear about your situation JC. But as others have said, keep your head up, keep it positive and keep your eye out for other opportunities and make opportunities if you need to. Don't just sit around and wait for someone else to solve your problems. People like to help people who help themselves and that itself usually leads to other good things. Be positive and make stuff happen. That is how America got great and that is how we will stay great. But, best of luck regardless and hope you find something good soon.

Been off since October 21st. Went through a 3 month hiring process for a dream job and got called yesterday and told that they offered the job to a former employee. Oh well,at least I woke up breathing on my own this morning.

Well, the ones that mostly created this problem have gone - fortunately. Although they still can't seem to keep their ignorant and obviously wrong mouths shut.

It's only been 2 months for the new guys trying to deal with the giant mess handed to them. Why not be positive and give the new guys a little support and benefit of the doubt. How the hell can you expect 8 years of stupidity to be fixed in 2 months? Do you think you could fix all this **** in 2 months? If so, let's hear your ideas.

I'm not saying the current guys do have all the answers or even that I am personally happy with some of the things they are doing, but to blame them for the problems is just flat out the stupidest **** imaginable.

YES! BUT MORE THAN A THOUSAND TIMES MORE CRIMINAL FOR THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE THEM $170 BILLION IN THE FIRST PLACE! ... of our tax payer money... $160 million is peanuts to our bailout-addicted politicians. Same as if you throw a thousand dollars down a black-hole organization, then cry when they misuse $1 of it???!! Redirect your outrage...

Any of you who live close to a major airport I encourage you to apply at TSA. The security at airports is not going away. The pay is not that bad and they have several perks thay go along with the job. Retirement after 5 years if you turn 65,medical, uniforms, matching 401 savings. I retired after 5 years, not a big check but it always gets there.

I feel ya buddy. The "economic downturn" pretty much destroyed my business i spent 5 + years trying to build. I'm employed at the moment, but barely. Thanks to my brother who took me into his print shop. It's ****ty general labor work, but it's work. Stay strong and positive. I still have bitter, angry days, but they're getting fewer and further between.

Hell, I just THOUGHT the previous eight years was mediocre / bad. These past two months have been nuts. We went from capitalism to so******m in a heartbeat. Excellent voting, comrades. Don't worry about working, the check is in the mail.

It's like a plane's engine flaming out at al***ude. You can either attempt to regain speed by sane means - like restarting the engine. With this option you can also regain al***ude later. Or you can lay a wing over and pile drive the sonofa***** into the ground. Bystanders will tell you it was moving pretty fast when it hit. I guess that's a good thing?

In all seriousness, I wish all of you the best of luck in your job search. It's not a pretty sight out there right now. Hopefully a company out there will get enough bailout dollars to hire you.

Honestly how AIG spent the money was wrong, but does that mean AIG is a bad company? think about how many people it employs, thats why they got the money, it would be disasterous if large companies collapsed.

IMO i believe it should all collapse then the government would collapse and then i could be built back up as it should be, with out the stupid BS laws that make no sense. But it is nice seeing someone trying to save the country, maybe they'll get rid of some of the BS laws will they're at it.

One last thing, it saws in the cons***ution that when the government becomes to corrupt and over steps it bounderies to rebel, the Cons***ution you know the thing that the government is supposed to be b***ed on. someting to remember guys.
