Here's one I've had since I was about 12. I redid it a few years ago and stripped it a little. One of these days I want to redo it again.

Haven't been online in months - but here goes!

It's a pic of a custom I did for my youngest daughter about 5 years ago. with some mild porting on the motor the damned thing would do 40 on the level.

It's a late '40's to early '50's Monark as near I can tell. I'm gonna make a copy of the forks for the Slug Bike.

That 3km must take you darn near as high as Mols. The bike is cool, I really am impressed with the variety of cargo bikes that exist in Denmark, I saw counless variations when visiting there in 2001. I took lots of pictures intending to fashion my own when I got home but have never got around to it.

Most recently I've been messing with power bikes we had a small fleet of them with us in Bonneville (attached picture)

I also have a 1951 Murray with an updated drive train.

Mostly I travel on a titanium mountain bike or

My chopper I built a few years ago. I recently changed the bars to a lower sitting pair. Hell, this thing has more miles than my dailey-driver!!
....BTW, check my sig for a really cool bike for sale.

Love the classics on this post. And some nice paintwork too.

This one is a lightning P38 w/a homemade cloroplast body I built. Has about 4500 miles on it, and its fun to go out looking for "Lance" types on our beach road. Typical commute/cruising speed is ~ 24 mph, and you can push it up to about 36mph. It's warmer in the cold seasons (good), but with side panels (not shown) it is susceptible to crosswinds, so I have to take a read on the day's weather before heading out.

Ahhh, the $5K carbon and unobtainium go-fast riders. Usually they are in competition form. This bike is just easier to push through the air.

what do you mean by "Lance" types??[/quote]

I had a GT DYNO Von Franco cruiser. It was the one that was the candy-apple tangerine with pinstripes. I talked to VF himself at Bob's one time and asked if he would add a little more to it and then sign it. I ended up selling it before I could hook up with him to do it. I also had a DYNO ROADSTER that I personally tricked out. It was a blue metalflake with black heavy duty spoked wheels I was going to make it into a 4 speed buy changing the hub. I also added the Scwinn chrome fenders and the front had the Phantom headlight that was on the fender. It was a bad ass looking bike. I rode that to work for 2 years until one day I got off work, went to go get it and it was ripped off. I had it parked in front of the store with a Krypton lock and that was in 2 pieces on the ground. Someone had been watching me. This was in broad daylight, around 12:30, with customers coming in and out of the parking lot and not one person saw what had happened. I was pissed. I just kissed 800.00 down the drain. I wish I had pics to show all of youz! I now have a late 60's-early 70's Workman with the heavy duty wheels that I got from the studios in Burbank. They used these to delivery mail on the lots. KNUX!

When I worked at Douglas in Long Beach we rode around on a similar HD cruiser type with a straight bar frame, rear rack and front basket. Not sure of the make but we thrashed those things, wish I had one now.???? kinda sounds like alot of cars I've owned

My little slice of nostalgia- my restored '71 Junior Stingray I got for Christmas in 1971 followed by all original '66 Stingrays in original paint (2 of each color available that year- and I have 5 more '66s- 4 of them were made the month I was born).

Around '67 or '68 four of us in the neighborhood had those 26" bikes with the ape hangers and banana seat. We all painted them the same color (a GM metallic silver-green), put on playing cards w/clothespins for sound , and terrorized the streets after dinner!

    Here is my "hot rod"

All parts found or scrounged off other bikes for the most part. Fixed gear. If ya don't know, that's yanking off the freewheel and attaching a track cog to the rear hub aka no coasting. 52x15 gears. Sucks on hills but I can keep up with traffic for the most part.

here's the first incarnation of my baby.

It had a custom seat with red piping, a surfboard tailfin-found on venice beach, and chrome exhaust. I also used those bullet valve cover caps on the handle bar grips. it flowed real nice and it looked like the bars came to a point. Also note the airhorn. that thing was loud as hell!
oh yeah and rounded sears handle bars turned downwards.

Here's one that I bought for an ex. It was a 57 schwinn starlet. This thing was amazing! all original and it looked like it had only been ridden a few times! It took me a while to find the pink and white streamers and pink 50's capguns.

Does anybody remember those things that slid onto your handle bars in place of one of the grips and it had a speaker box hanging down from it and evertime you turned the grip it roared like a motorcycle? What were these called and who made them? any body got pics?
