I'm going to be building a shop soon and while doing my research, my dad tossed over the latest Rod & Custom and said, you ever heard of these guys? It was an ad for these guys: http://www.miracletruss.com/ The price seems real good and their design approach looks sound and their website is nice. But I have no idea about customer service, quality or nickel and dime add ons, etc. Any insight would be appreciated. I like this truss system better than other buildings I've seen.

I was a commercial steel and concrete contractor for 12 years. A metal building is a metal building. I'm saying there isn't alot of difference between the different brands out there. The thing I like about the mirracletruss building is the use of 2x6 wood girts in the walls and the 2x6 purlins in the roof. these ar on 2 foot centers so it make it very cost efective to insulat and finish on the inside unlike the all metal buildings like the one I have. My dad has a building made by chief building that is designed that way.
Comet, I'm a hair north of you in the Snohomish area. I bought a Websteel building out of Sandy, Oregon. 30' x 42' 3 bay building, 16' at the eaves. What I did was rent a flatbed truck and went down to Sandy and picked the building up myself, saving the WA sales tax AND delivery charges (truck cost me about 75.00 for the day. The steel "posts" and girders were heavy, and my brother and I off-loaded it all by hand in the dark, but I think I p***ed my spleen at some point in the unloading, so wouldn't do it that way again. I also rented a crane locally to erect the steel. Did it myself in a weekend, no problem. If you want to come see my building, PM me and I'll tell you where I am. Websteel was very compe***ive price-wise, and their support was first cl***. Any questions I had during the build-up, they were on it. They also made a couple of mods for me due to the size of the overhead doors. All in all a good experience. Mike
This is great info (other than that hairy chick with a ****) that should be over on the Garage Journal. Even us regulars here and on the Jockey Journal forget about the Garage Journal. I spend some time over there every couple weeks and am amazed. That board could use an infusion of enthusiastic posters! NOTE! It is a mixed group, you will be talking with sportscar guys, race team folks, musclecar freaks, restorers and ******s like us.........the vibe is VERY mellow. Little confrontation. Just folks that spend way to much money and time in their garage!

I agree wit 076chevy... I actually put one of these up in my backyard. A couple of friends to lay the concrete ( the concrete truck driver said "wheres your crew?"). Rented a forklift/crane boom type rig and basically put the rest up by myself or one friend. Half is finished with insulation and drywall for the finished projects and the other half is the work shop. No regrets. nice wide open spaces and if you insulate the neighbors wont hear you grinding away.
Thanks for the link, I have a 50 x 40 , 24ft tall steel garage that I bought from Allied Steel. It is due to be delivered at the end of March. My worry was whether I should even attempt to put it up myself. Maybe I can learn enough over there to know whether to hire a crew or press on myself. Bob
