OT Dana 70 ID help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Texas Highlander Motorsports, Oct 21, 2009.

  1. I have a Dana 70 with the BOM of 603285 3. Can anyone help ID this?

I tried Dana's search to no avail. I need to know if it is a regular, "U", or HD Dana 70.

    Thanks.

I have two 70HD's and both have 70HD cast into the webbing somewhere. Checking the webbing might be a shortcut to your answer.

It came out of a 1971-75 Dodge M300 or P300 and has 4.56:1 gears. 70B have a large "B" cast on top of the center section, 70U are smooth on the bottom and the 70HD pretty much only had bigger carrier bearings.

  4. Thanks. It only has "70" on the web and is not smooth bottomed, so it must be a regular D70 and the tag on it does in deed say that it has 4.56 gears.

    Thanks again.
