I've mentioned this car a time or 3 and lately about finish. It got a little boo-boo so I have it back, and it's in my head again. Ladies n Gents, I present "Art Deco" which I affectionately refer to as "The Fat Chick" Powered by a 302 and AOD, Heidts front and rear independent suspensions, one the last Lobeck's ch***is, I think acquired in late 08 or 09. I'll be happy to answer questions. The car isn't my style but I take a measure of pride in what we did. The hood sides and speaker trims all custom made, the interior was inspired by the 1934 Packard LeBaron Speedsters, and there's a who's who of usual suspects street rod product here n there. The body is all steel, a Speed33 from American Speed Company here in MI. I posted this in relation to a paint topic on the main board. Other than clear and 2 HOK dry pearls it's all Shop-Line. Enjoy, I'd be happy to answer any questions.
Sorry, an attempt at humor - a reference to a 1950's cartoon on luxury car salesmen - "If you have to ask, you can't afford it".
Even though it isn't usually our build style around here on the HAMB, I can appreciate the work and effort that has gone into the car. Thanks for sharing and btw, I actually like the center consol made of gl***, thinking way outside of the box, well done, cheers
Thanks for the pics. They don't highlight the paint per se, but it doesn't stick out as a corner that was cut. The gl*** looks very nice, but I can't keep stuff on the center console of my truck while driving.
I would ruin that in a matter of seconds, purely by accident. I generally don't look at stuff like this much, my mind can't comprehend that level of effort of investment for things that would be useless in my little world. I'm sure there are a lot of people that are impressed. The car was built for them. I'm OK with that.
