    Gawd Damn that's kewl!

Listen to all kinds of music, but no shred of talent myself.
If it's okay, can I brag on a fellow Hamber? This guy actually got his profile on the Gretsch guitar page!

I play an Eastwood Airline Bass through a 1968 Kustom K200 and 2-15's in charcoal metalflake tuck n roll in a 60's garage band called 45 Spider. I collect early Kustom gear. I have 2 1968 4-10" cabinets and a K200 PA, and a 1969 Kustom Kombo organ, all in charcoal metalflake. If you like rock with a 60's vibe, our newest CD is out, check us out on Facebook or www.reverbnation.com/45spider

Played mostly rock and 80s Metal . Trying to due more blues and classical now , if I can trade a wrench for a 6 string in my mitts .

  19. My dad was a professional Jazz Sax Musician, and music teacher. I learned to play the Clarinet at 6, the trumpet at 8 and then started on Drums and never looked back. Studied with a couple of well known drummers (Merv Kennedy and Ralph Humphries) and got to play with the Don Ellis Band one summer (Google him, composed the music for The French Connection among other accomplishments) At one point I owned a small chain of Music Stores in OC for about 10 years. I played in quite a few bands with my Dad (who had also played with Don Ellis in the Glenn Miller band back in the 50's), Mostly Big Band Jazz stuff with a lot of old cats that were there back in the 40's. Now days I haven't drummed in years but still pick at my 57 Strat now and again (and not very well I might add)

It's been a long time since I posted in this thread, but since then, our band Hot Rod Hucksters recorded at Sun Studios this past year. Talk about a religious experience!

It holds up well, but I use covers and try to be careful. Kustom stuff is pretty durable, but heavy. I had a 3x15" cabinet, but after 2 back surgeries, I switched to 2 and it still kicks my ass at small clubs sometimes. The organ is 200 pounds, just ridiculous. We have a lot of fuzz guitar in our songs, so the old Kustom gear saves me from buying too many pedals to replicate it. I'm glad Chili Phil started this one, I know it's an old thread, but I really dug seeing all the cool old gear other guys had. Not sure why it died, so I figured I'd fire it up. Hope no one minds.

I can play a few songs on the hamonica, never impressed anyone. My youngest is a kick ass guitar player and drummer, my oldest plays key boards and sings, and my daughter was a pretty good drummer back in the day.....

I am a big guy, not a fat guy just muscular. Everyone thought I should play football.

Instead I played in the pep band, everyone hated me. Small town in Idaho, pep band consisted of me on guitar, my younger brother on drums, a keyboard player, electric bass and the music teacher on electric trumpet. It was a hoot and we were asked to turn it down many times.

Musical family, we had a band, "The Sarsaparillas" and played all over, rodeos, lions clubs, that type of thing.

Now I just play in my bedroom but I play everyday.

So just what can I play?

    Fiddle
    Banjo
    piano
    drums
    guitar
    bass

Out of those what do I like to play, the guitar of course! My mother made me learn everything but the guitar so although I can play them I really hate them, especially the piano. WEll the bass and banjo are ok.

    Fender Tele
    Ephi, Wildkat
Arbor strat knock off, First electric
    196? yamaha acoustic
Hondo II, looks like a les paul
    Earth Revival tube amp
    Marshal practice amp
    ESP Kirk Hammet
Some no name tube amp from the 70's, just the head but it rocks
    Ephi valve 60 DSP
    Some cheap banjo
    Sold the damn fiddle
Really nice piano that I never play but my oldest is way good at. You can find her on youtube, not that it means anything

I play all sorts of stuff, mostly punk, heavy metal, and rockabilly

Tired of reading this long post? Good, I am tired of typing it.

    So long

Since we're on the comeback tour of this thread:

Music is my other mistress...she has to split time with the HAMB friendly stuff...

Guitars (Blues, Rock, Soul, trying to fake it in the Jazz realm)
'94 Fender Telecaster American Standard (Midnight Wine, white p/g)
'97 Guild Starfire IV (Red)--hot DeArmond pickups
?? DeArmond Fullbody Archtop with single neck p/u (Korean I think)
?? Gitane Jorgenson Model D-hole (Selmer Gypsy Jazz style)
50's Supro Amp (not sure the details)
    '94 Fender Blues Deluxe Tweed
Fuzz Face (Repro), Vox Wah, Mesa Boogie Tube pre-amp,

    Harmonicas
Plethora of Hohner Blues harps with an occasional Lee Oskar
    Hohner Superchromatic 64
    Hohner Harp Mic

    Keys
    Nord-Electro 73 (Hammond B-3/Wurlitzer EP/Rhodes Suitcase/Stage/Clavinet/Acoustic Piano emulator)

    Misc
Technique 1200 (one now, other fried) Vestax 05 mixer
    Emu SP1200 sampler/percussion
    Akai MPC 60
    Akai S950 rackmount sampler
    N/I Maschine Digital production module
about enough decent records to sell to finance another project car or finish my truck nicely (just can't lose that funk though)

Ok, on to that sweet music of a flatty gurgle...
